Served to plastic at Flossmoor’s Oktoberfest celebration. Poured a dark brown with ruby tones showing through. The head was a medium tan with creamy foam and as clingy lace as plastic will allow. The aroma was a full dose of toasty malt, light grain, and malty sweetness. The flavor exposed more with hints of chocolate, caramel, toffee, and even maple? Some roasty characteristics and subtle hop bitterness/dryness were also present. Fairly full body and creaminess to the mouthfeel made this a very enjoyable brew, especially for the occasion.

On tap at the rainy FS Oktoberfest - It poured a dark, dark brown body with a moderate tan head that managed to lace the sides of my plastic drinking vessel. It had a sweet dark caramel and chocolate aroma with a light roastiness to it. The flavor was much the same although the sweetness seemed to intensify, cut only slightly by a dash of earthy hops. True to style, but I think a bit too sweet for me.

dark brown color, thin tan head, no lace, but it was served in a plastic cup. nose is airy malt, a bit too airy. flavor is sweet, sweet malt, with roasty male and dried fruit notes. creamy mouth feel, overpowering sweet finish. i found this one to be cloyingly sweet and coul not finish it (oh, the humanity!). on tap at flossmoor station’s octoberfest. my 1111th rating.

Had on tap at the Oktoberfest party at the station. Pours very dark brown with tan head. Almost like a stout or porter. Aroma was caramel and chocolate, yeast, and roasted malts. Flavor was toffee, caramel, sweet and bready malts with some chocolate and some light spices. Have only had a couple of dunkels but thought this was a pretty solid brew.

Draft on tap at the Flossmoor Oktoberfest celebration (Flossmoor, IL). Pours a a brownish near opaque pour with a nice offwhite that is thick, laces fairly well. Aromas are sweet caramel anf toffee malts, bread, faint chocolate. Initial is sweet malts, caramel and dark chocolate, sweet, malty, with very light bitterness in the finish. A sweet brew, decent bitterness, not necessarily sessionable in my world. A bit thick, a good sweetness, malty, faint bitterness. Ok, overall. Not necessarily my thing.
