Bomber with dark blue wax from Archer Liquor. Pours a rich copper, slightly hazy, with a three-finger white head. Aroma is pine, citrus, and peach! Near full bodied with foamy carbonation. Flavor is rye, caramel, and a lot of resin and citrus. Seems to have hot bits. Nicely bitter. Bready rye flavor. Finishes bitter and interesting. Not quite smooth, not too harsh. That rye works well. Kind of yeasty/spicey. Maybe that’s the hot bits. Really good stuff.

A mug or more at the brewpub: This poured an amber body with a slight haze and a tall sudsy head that coated the glass(es) with thick lacing. Nice citrus hop aroma - oranges, tangerine, pink grapefruit, a touch of zest. The hops contribute more flavor than bitterness to the taste, nicely balancing a light, slightly spicy caramel sweetness. The bitterness returns in the prolonged, dry finish. Nice job by Mr. Shimkos.

22 ounce bottle shared by CrellMoset. Thanks! Pours a slightly hazy amberish copper color with a thin wisp of sediment floating in the middle. Moderately large head with good head retention and lacing. Aroma is malty and nutty with peppery notes from the rye along with fruity hoppy notes featuring mango and other tropical notes. Taste is leafy hops, citrus, mango, rye and nuts. Very faint bubblegum notes as this has almost a faint Belgian vibe going on. Medium bodied.

Bottle and served in my GI IPA tulip: Pours a coppery hue with a heavy head and outstanding lace. The aroma has notes of citric and grassy hops, pale biscuity and crystal malts, some salty and minty earthy quality, and moderate rolled rye. The taste has a nice balance between rye snap, fruity twang, slight malt sweetness and some finishing bitterness. There is a slight mineral and chalky tone, tea like tannins that are my only dislikes about this brew. Overall one damn nice rye influenced beer that still allows the base IPA to shine through.
