Mug club draft at the brewpub (Flossmoor, IL). Pours a murky brownish amber, darker, with a big tannish brown darker head that cakes exceptionally and laces very well. Aromas are fruity, a blast of citrusy lemon and orange zest, fruit, decent hoppy bitterness with a touch of coriander, faint white pepper, and more citrus. A touch of Belgian spice, conservative, with a nice fruity ester base of pear and apple and cereal malts with a touch of honey beneath. Initial is very fruity, preaching apple, pear, banana with abig undertaking of lemon and orange citrus zest and fruit, good acidic bitterness, hop, and citrus juice. The malts come further into play, bread and cereal mixes with honey, vanilla, and fruity esters, the spicey Belgoan yeast comes in a little stronger. This certainly is a Belgian, fruity and decent bitterness, with lighter spice, but a bit heavy in my book. Bitter finish, leaves a trailing spice. Not bad, just a bit ho hum..

hazy caramel color, light tan head which quickly dissipates to tiny bubbles, lacy. nose is malty with mild belgian yeasty notes. flavor is spicey, with hints of coriander and fruity belgian yeast. dry mouthfeel, medium body, light bitter finish. a respectable spiced ale, belgian style. sampled during mug club tapping @ brewpub. they are now selling it at brewpub as "cupid has a brand new bag"....

Poured very cloudy amber, looked like a yeast starter for a homebrew. Very slight aroma of malt and spices. Some holiday spice flavor but not very strong.

Day 11 of the 12 Beers of Christmas, enjoyed at the mug club tapping and subsequently: This poured a cloudy reddish amber with a full, foamy beige head that laced the glass heavily. The aroma was bready with a light touch of spices and an underlying caramely malt. A soft citric bitterness was added to the flavor along with a pronounced dry spiciness. The alcohol was well hidden throughout until it got int the bloodstream. Nice.

#11 of the 12 Beers of Christmas: Amber pour with moderate off-white head. Nose of sweet caramel malt and citrus . Flavors are pretty much the same...coriander and ginger. (It’s not in there, but I get clove, too) Nice effort and festive holiday brew from Bryan and crew.
