COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rich and complex, this Russian Imperial Stout has every dimension of flavor coming into play. Roasty and fruity with a noticeable presence of alcohol. Think bittersweet chocolate.

Bus bottle, I believe, RBWG. dark brown color, brown head. Aroma of dark unsweetened cocoa, burnt espresso. Taste has bitter cocoa, licorice. Very nice.

Taste during the RBWG bus tour (LaZoom!). Dark coffee table brown pour. The nose has some molasses and thick bourbon feel. Tastes imperial: loads of bourbon, some molasses, dark fruit, and coffee. Slight ethanol hot finish.

Great Impy stout here, bittersweet chocolate all the way, not too hot either which is great.

Draft pour on tap at the brewpub (Flossmoor, IL). Pours a rich deep dark opaque hue, dark and ominous, thicker body, some legs. Frothy tannish milk chocolate head atop dies to a good layer, laces ok. Aromas are cacao, black malts, roast, cocoa, and some coffee. Roasty and ashy elements, big caramel and toffee, some firm dry hops. Initial preaches a firm bigger body, bigger bitter elements show roasty, rich earthy hop presence, florals, grass, and piney resiny elements. Roast, middle shows a firm chocolate and dark cacao feel, bigger sweet toffee, caramel, and biscuits. Big bitter cocoa presence, roast, coffee and firmer big dryness as we press on. Almost char as we move back. Finish is bigger and dry, bitter sustains. This really works through the motions. A touch offensive into the finish, or just a bit big for me, but a sit in a barrel seems like it has a bunch of potential for this particular offering
