From notes: Bomber courtesy of d0b. Thanks a lot Dave! Pours a cloudy dark orange color with a one finger white foam head that slowly fades into a lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing left behind. Floral hop aroma with lots of sweet citrus and earthy pine character along with a pale malt presence. Hints of orange peel, pineapple and grapefruit balanced by grassy pine and biscuit. Chewy full body with lots of sweet citrus hop flavor that’s countered by a dry, bitter pine flavor and pale malt backbone. Lots of citrus rind, mango and grapefruit but the piny bitterness prevents it from becoming overly sweet. Decent bitterness throughout with some biscuit malt and faint alcohol balancing things out. Reall well made and easy to drink.

Had at RBWG 2010! Malty and alcoholic, must be a double. This is more towards the malt but still quite good.

Bottle… RBWG ‘10… Hazy, dirty orange ale with a small, fat-bubbled, white head. The aroma presents earthy, fruity hops (grapefruit, apricot and plum) and praline malt (buttery toffee and nuts). Medium-bodied with gentle carbonation. The hop bitterness has faded, but the hop flavor is all there along with a hefty dose of malt goodness. Thin, bittersweet finish… more sweet than bitter. Kudos to growler for providing the bottle.

Bottle with many thanks to DrnkMcDermott. X-IPA scratched into the wax on the bottle. Body is a lovely dingy tarnished penny with a little bit of a head. Lots of hops and sweetness in the nose. Pine, grapefruit and other citrus, brown sugar and caramel... smells darn good. Flavor is a little punchy. Has a lot of alcohol present with a puckering hops presence and a little too much malty sweetness for my palate. Malt is barley wine like... brown sugar and dates. This has a sticky finish and strikes me more as a barley wine than an IIPA.
