COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our doubly delicious double I.P.A. made with 100% Amarillo hops. Dry hopped at a generous pound/bbl, X-IPA is a citrus bomb that will send you to grapefruit heaven. The bottles are topped by Black wax and are sale at the brewery.

Clear oarnge, creamy white, head. Leaves lots of lace. Aroma is dominated by soapy, floral hops, and maybe some pale malt. Medium body, watery texture.Slightest toasted malts, pale malt in the flavor.Dominated mainly by the hops. Finish is hoppy(soapy, floral). Drinkable, but couldn't discern any malt,at all, hardly. Not too bad.

I really enjoyed Bill and Todds Excellent IPA and was missing it. So I was glad for X IPA. It has a cloudy amber color. Had a good mouth feel. I went back two straight weekends to enjoy it. Cheers

Amber orange in color with a thin white head. Another solid offering from the Station. Citrus is pronounced with a hop background heavy into the American C hops. Nice toasty malt balance. Fair amoutn of eyast suspended int ehbeer to give it a cloudy appearence.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2004 Summer batch, Draft. The server told me they've upped the hop content in this one. And yes, it almost hurts to drink. Much much more of the C&C hop note, but the color is actually lighter than most IPAs. Last year's grapefruit and tangerine note stays hidden until the finish.
Draft. Asst. Brewmaster Bill brought this up for us a week before it hit the taps or even got a name, so it's still conditioning as I write this. Pours a rocky, big bubbly head. Definite grapefruit aroma from Amarillo hops (Bill said they were tired of "Centennial and Cascade all the time." Could Amarillo be this year's trend?). A little wheat makes up part of a big Bavarian, I think, malt profile. Big hoppy taste according to style. It was still cloudy at the time, but should mellow and clear once it's officially served. Yes, this means "Bill & Todd's Excellent IPA" is officially retired.
