2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 rudolf (2245) - Buffalo, USA - OCT 29, 2004
Aroma is tootsie rolls. Flavor is bleh. I wish I could say that this was an infection, but this is the 2nd time I’ve had it and thought of burnt rubber. Sweet and watery.

Tap at the brewhouse. Great appearance...smoky and chocolate. Mild coffee flavor. Not the best porter, but a decent one. Overall, Flour City impresses me...

Very flat pour. Redish brown in color, light for a porter. Light in body. The roastiness dominates the flavor, with subtle hops coming through. If you are in the mood, this porter can hit you good. Otherwise, it is decent.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BuckNaked (1223) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - OCT 8, 2004
2004 draught at brewery. Pours deep, dark brown with a small tan head. Has a nice roast aroma with plenty of chocolate, coffee, malt and nuts. Thin to medium bodied, this beer was very easy to drink yet it didn’t leave me feeling like it was missing something. Good quality roasted flavors, chocolate, coffee, medium-dark malts, nuts, and some bitterness round out the flavor. It was very smooth, yet quite nicely bitter and full of flavor. My favorite from Flour City so far.

Buffalo Brewfest 04. Classic chocolaty porter smell. Black pour with red hues. More roasted chocolate in taste, but dry and thin as well - I found it very similar to London Porter, just a little hoppier, but with less going on. Overall, pretty good, but nothing outstanding.

Tap. A fair porter. Some nut and roasted grain in the aroma. Somewhat thin. Bittersweet taste. Some traditional porter flavors. Decent.

Tasted at Buffalo Brewfest: Tastey porter with plenty of coffee in the flavor and a roasted burnt taste. Reddish brown color.

I had a Draft of this at the Flour City
brewfest. I did not enjoy the smoky/coffee aroma and flavor. It was smoother than I had expected though.

bolder coffee aroma and roast appearance and taste. But not a smooth chocolatey porter as is often the case. Some nuttiness but not overly complex,
