[275ml bottle courtesy of cgarvieuk] Pours slightly hazy amber, with a thin head. Rich, fruity caramel aroma – quite sweet, but something slightly smoky on the nose as well. Fruity, decently sweet on the palate – finishes off slightly bitter after all the sweetness. Well carbonated. Decent [15102011]

Bottle courtesy of cgarvieuk. Dark orange/copper pour, small head fades to nothing. Sweet sourdough, raisin, caramel, honey nose. Hint of vanilla. Similar flavours, hint of booze on the finish. Mild alcohol burn. Thin but nice.

(Bottle. Thanks to SaintMatty) Cloudy amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, raisins, caramel, treacle toffee and a touch of smoke. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, caramel, treacle, raisins, hints of smoke and a slightly bittersweet finish with a touch of alcohol. More than medium body, smooth and rounded mouthfeel. Lingering malt sweetness throughout. A slight oxidisation doesn’t really disturb, just adds to the complexity. Lovely balance. Very nice beer.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy caramel aroma. Sweetish malty spicy caramel flavor with some hints of dark fruit. Has a sweetish malty spicy finish with some hits of dark fruit in the aftertaste.

Amber with a small white head. Fruity aroma with a hint of wood. Strong apple peel notes and some alcohol. Sweet and malty flavour with lots of extremely hot alcohol.

light unclear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, caramel, fruity, raisin, prune, light notes of smoke. Flavor is moderate to light light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light to moderate alcoholic. [20090808]

Bottled (thanks SaintMatty!). Amber colour, some wood, alcohol and mild brandy/rum-like notes sweetness as well. Flavour is quite much the same along with some raisins and honeyish notes. Nicely balanced.

Bottled (at Chriso). Courtesy of SaintMatty. Deep orange color, small steady white head. Aroma has brandy (alcohol), some smoke and raisins. Taste of honey, raisins and some alcohol. Liquerish palate. Quite good. Might even age ok.

Cask stillage (Bitter Virtue, Southampton ) - Brown in colour. Festive aroma with fruit cake and raisins. Rich tasting with malt, spices and lots of fruity notes including raisins followed by a sweet and fruity finish.
