Dark brown/black with a creamy coffee aroma, a hint of sweetness in the mouth along with roasted chocolate maltiness, and a dry finish.

Cask (Southampton Beer Festival 2010) - Black in colour. Coffee, roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Roasted tasted with smooth coffee and hints of roasted malt.

Cask @ old vine, Winchester. Good off white head to this very dark reddish brown porter. Good roast malt, coffee aroma. On taste it’s chocolatey malt with a balanced bitterness. Aftertaste has a lingering bitterness with roast and malt. A lovely beer.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars’ Hampshire Beer Festival, Bristol 2/05/2011. Near black with a creamy, off-whit head. Aroma of milk chocolate, coffee and a touch of dark fruits. Slightly oily mouth feel. Flavour had more chocolate, a hint of roastiness and a dryish finish. Good.

Cask (gravity) @ The 16th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2010, Reading, Berkshire England.

Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100429]
