Gravicask (PBBF2012, Thurs)
Smells of chillis. A bit ’organic’. Pale, brief head. Tastes also of chillis, but without the head. Vegetal. (Pods, presumably!) A bit thin, but it is 3.8% so it’s not too surprising. A bit quirky in places, but not necessarily in a good way.

On cask (handpump) at Great British Beer Festival, day 3 on 6 August 2009. Attractive clear, bright gold colour. Good condition. Lots of citrus. Sharp, clean mouthfeel. Very refreshing but not as aromatic as the old Cheriton version.

Cask @ GBBF 2009. Pours a clear pale golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity flowery hoppy aroma with some hints of elderflower. Sweetish malty fruity hoppy citrus flavor with some hints of elderflower. Has a sweetish malty fruity hoppy finish with some hints of elderflower in the aftertaste.

Cask at GBBF 2009. Pale gold, lasting off white head. Looks lovely. Really quite strong elderflower, biting, over a slightly yeasty golden ale. Pretty good biting elderflower throughout. As good as the Cheriton Pots Village Elder, its predecessor? Not quite.

Cask@GBBF 2009 as "Elder Ale". Yellow color, small white head. Honeyish aroma. Quite watery. Week lime peels and honey in the flavor. Flavor basicly good but beer is too watery.

A Mes rate: Gravicask @ Reading Beer Festival. Almost pils like appearance. Hoppy nose with elderflower? Or is that just the name give me subliminal rate fodder? Flavour is actually quite good. Drinkable and surprisingly flavoursome with some nice sweet biscuity malts and a good balancing bitter hop finish. A fair bit of character considering it’s straight down the line.
