Really quite strong elderflower, biting, over a slightly yeasty golden ale. Pretty good biting elderflower throughout. As good as the Cheriton Pots Village Elder, its predecessor? Not quite. Yellow color, small white head. Honeyish aroma. Quite watery. Week lime peels and honey in the flavor. Flavor basicly good but beer is too watery.

Gravicask @ Reading Beer Festival. Almost pils like appearance. Hoppy nose with elderflower? Or is that just the name give me subliminal rate fodder? Flavour is actually quite good. Drinkable and surprisingly flavoursome with some nice sweet biscuity malts and a good balancing bitter hop finish. A fair bit of character considering it’s straight down the line. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 2, 2006 Gravity cask @ Flowerpots, Cheriton. Pale quaffable beer. Familiar light elderflower aromas and fruity hops. Malt has the sweet aspect which to me is becoming a house character for the new Flowerpot beers which works well here with a gentle bitter finish helping to balance this out. On first impression a succesful rendition of Village Elder (I cant help comparing to the old Cheriton beers) after more considered supping perhaps eclipsing the template.
