Cask conditioned at The Bell, Banbury. Gold with white head. Light simple beer, quite thin on the palate, some hops and reasonable bitterness. Doesn’t really hit the top notes, but reasonable enough.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2010 Cask, gravity at the Flowerpots brewpub, Cheriton, Hampshire 6th June 2008 Pours warm gold in fact it looks stunning, great clarity and with the tiniest white head. Some honey starts to push though early on and then once the bitterness takes over leaking citrussyness across the roof and edges of the mouth the honey starts to return with sweet malts but also some florally flavours. A good beer but not as good as I was expecting. A6 A4 F7 P3 Ov13 3.3 Had this again on Cask handpump at The Bell, Banbury, Oxon, 22-03-10 Banbury Beer Festival Meeting. Pours warm gold, this has a streaky bitterness running through this. Excellent clarity, nice furry bitterness, citrus grabbing you again, sweet & fruity but pleasant stuff once again the condition and appearance is still very good as is the temperature, and these have been on now for 3-4 days now! 2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Mungo (2472) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - DEC 2, 2006
Gravity cask @ Wheatsheaf, Shedfield. Golden colour. Citrussy zest and peppery hop nose - quite inviting. Sweet malt character similar to the bitter I had on the same night but more pronounced. Tingly peppery hop flavours but the bitterness is too restrained. Finishes a bit sweet for me. On subsequent tastings at the Flowerpot pub and elsewhere this hasnt really improved for me.
