Cask. Woody winey nutty nose, good chewy body, with oak, a good balance of sweet malt and grassy hops, woody bitter finish, very quaffable.

Cask The County, Hexham Copper-coloured with small white head. Hop aroma with some floral notes. Thin palate. Malty flavour with some hints of acid. Detected a fairly nasty aftertaste. Didn’t much like this.

Vladivostok (215) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2010
Another beer that has been brewed at many breweries over the years. Very little in the way of distinctive flavours and difficult to know why it is still being made. Something and nothing.

Cask at the Lion Hotel, Harlech, Wales. Golden amber with a thin creamy off-white head. Leaves big wide swathes of lacing. Flowery light hoips aroma. Flavor is light creamy with a toasty caramely body and a liggt floral hop finish. Light bodied.

Cask. Copper with a small and short off-white head. Mildly floral hop and malty nose. A bit of fruitiness flavour-wise, and an ever-so-slight bitterness. Thin and flat mouthfeel. Not much to this.

Svesse (5855) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAY 3, 2008
(Cask at Ye Grapes, Mayfair, London, 25 April 2008) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity nose with apricots, oranges and sulphur. Fruity, malty taste with notes of toffee, orange, apricots, nuts and malt syrup. Sweetish, with a slightly artificial malt character. On the macro side.

Cask (The Anchor, Cambridge) I’ve had some dodgy ones of this in my time, but this was surprisingly good. Dark copper coloured, thin head. Nutty and malty aroma. Taste to match, nuts joined with wood too. Rather flat. Very solid bitter.

Rastacouere (6107) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 19, 2007
Cask. Clear orange to amber pour wearing a fine off-white head with good lacing. Kinda oily, flowery nose bearing mostly leafy aromas. Obviously focusing on bitterness more than aromatics. Orangey, biscuity palate with a mild toastiness. Fruity, generic malts. Just simplistic and sweetish in the end, the hops promises never get through. The bitterness does not slice through the sweetness. Light-medium bodied, little carbonation at all.
