The Trafalgar Tavern, Greenwich. Aroma of malt and floral hop. Deep amber color with a frothy white head. LIghtly sweet malt start, somewhat balanced by hop, but the malt persists into the finish.

Cask at the Westbourne. Pours a clear, rich copper with pretty much no head. Nuts, mild toast and mild fruits on the nose. Some doughy malts and burnt nuts in the flavor with light sweetness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Very dry finish with heavy herbal and leafy hops. Nothing special.

Cask. (The Anchor, Cambridge, 2004) I’ve had some bad ones of this in the past, but this was an absolute classic. Everything you’d want in a bitter - punchy but not overpowering hops, and plenty of malty body.
