Bottle. Copper-amber with a thick lasting head. Light scent does not hint at the strong hops contained below; a bit vegetable and wood. All aggressive woody hops that keep rising up like a burp in reverse. Guess that is where the name afterburner comes from. Body seems a little thin but you forget as the hops roll and roll. A baby Devil Dancer, too sandpapery for its own good.

22oz bottle. Poured an amber color with a smaller sized head. Citrus and floral. Oranges and pine. A little toast with some caramel.

Bomber. Appearance is an orange tinted golden color with a half-inch of white foam. Mostly apricot, citrus and barley in the aroma with bready malt notes around the edges. The taste has more of a bitter, herbal quality to it from the hops in addition to some orange citrus, honey and biscuit malt flavors. Standard medium-level carbonation in the body with more herbal hoppiness in the finish. Worth a try if it’s on hand but probably not worth seeking out.

650ml bottle pours a golden orangeish color with 2 fingers of white head which leaves some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is bold citrus hops. Taste is big citrusy and pine hop bitterness with not quite enough malt to tame the bitterness. This is a very bitter IPA which was somewhat enjoyable, but not quite there.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a yellow color with a white head. The aroma is full of grapefruit and orange citrus with some bread from the malt mixed in. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of grapefruit and orange notes, with some grass also mixed in. There is a backbone provided by the biscuit malt which keeps the bitterness from being too high. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

(22oz bomber thanks to bu11zeye) clear rich golden color with creamy off-white head. Nose of orange, candi sugar, nice sweetness, and honey. Taste is exceptionally bitter, no matching sweetness at all, hairspray, super bitter, oily, and a very bitter palate linger. Pine and grapefruit straight up.

Okay nose. A bit malty. Overly sweet taste. A bit bitter and finish is weak. Oh well.

A: The pour is a golden color with a finger of white foam. S: Quite lemony on the aroma. Lots of grass, herbal, and pine notes with just a bit of pine. Quite of bit of bready malts with a light caramel aroma. T: The flavor is quite similar. A light pepper note to go along with the lemon peel and herbal hops. A touch of pine bitterness as well as the seemingly obligatory sweet bread, toffee, and caramel. M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation. O: Not sure what else to say. Not a good beer.

22 oz. from Haggen’s. Pretty mild across the board. Doesn’t smell like much, doesn’t look like much. Tastes is a fruity type of hop. Stays bitter in the back of my throat for quite some time. Pretty meh, though their Pacemaker Porter rocks.

Bomber thanks to BrewDad. Pours a clear copper color with a large foamy white head. The aroma is biscuit malts and oranges. Very dry, some orange peel in the flavor, light bitterness, very balanced, light glue, leaves. Not bad.

(22oz bottle) Pours a lightly hazy yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of grass, caramel, and toasted grain. Flavor of orange, caramel malt, and herbs with a dry, bitter finish.
