22 oz bottle by way of after4ever. Pour is dark brown with ruby highlights. Thinnish tan head - one inch tall, falls quickly to just a few bubbles clinging to the edge of the glass. Aroma is big, BIG peat maltiness. Some sweet caramel, dark chocolate, smoke, roast - nose is just lush and immense. Wonderful smelling beer. Taste is not as big as the nose, fortunately I suppose, but has all the component parts of the nose - caramel biscuit malt, salty peatiness, dark chocolate and granular earthiness - nice stuff. Palate is big and mouth coating. Smooth, drinkable and absolutely no alcohol heat at all. Really nice beer, on this evening it outshone Deviation. Thanks for grabbing this gem for me Tom, always appreciated.

Aug 10, 2008 22oz bottle. Thanks to Travisd13. Pours caramelly dark brown with red highlights, thin offwhite head. Smells very sweet and almost smokey and roasty malty with some dark sweet fruit, plums maybe. Tastes sweet and malty roasty with lots of dark, ripe, fruit flavors. Very good, very complex. Full bodied, subdued but good carbonation

Jul 28, 2008 A black beer with a red shine under a thin tan head. The aroma is very sweet malty with strong notes of berries and bourbon - and so is the flavor. The mouthfeel is very powerful. Just a bit too much for me.

Jul 14, 2008 22 oz bottle. Dark cola with a bubbly tan head that completely disappears. Nose is toffee, plum and raisin with fruit wood smoke. Luscious full body with just a trace of sour tang. Taste is prune, brittle, candied ginger, cocoa powder and grape. Dry, bitter grass adds a little balance. A super malty Scotch ale. Love it.

Jul 4, 2008 Brown with a very thin off white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, alcohol, lots of toffee, I like it. Taste is alcohol, toffee, dried fruit. Thick oily body.
