Ibrew2or3 (4914) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAY 1, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Pours deep clear copper to amber in color with off white head. The aroma is full and seems roasty, burnt, nutty and mildly like caramel malts. The taste starts sweet with caramel malts and then a sharp jab of burnt malts works its way quickly through. Once the black patent like burnt malts recede some mild roasty – malty – malts sweetness is noticed again. Very burnt and very roasty for an amber.

On tap at the brewpub. Pale amber colour, thick off-white head. Thin lightly dusty aroma. Flavour is subtly sweet a bit of toffee, light diacetyl, light bitterness. Flavour is a bit of caramel, toffee, strong diacetyl in the mouth. A bit of dusty finish. Fairly watery. A pretty poor beer.

Amber colour. Light caramel aroma. Toasty notes and light caramel in the light body. Flavor profile is just that simple. OK starter beer. Looking forwward to my next visit, when they’ll actually have a decent range of their own beers on, and a few brews under their belt as well.
