My first Flyers beer actually made by Flyers. Pacemaker Porter is near black in colour. Roasty, chocolatey, hoppy aroma. The flavour is fairly hoppy, with some astringent roastiness. Could really use an injection of malty sweetness, as this is bracingly bitter. It’s not bad, but could be the bitterest porter I’ve ever had, strangling the subtlety right out of it.

Bomber. The pour is black as tar with a solid layer of light brown foam. Lots of roast malt, coffee bean, burnt caramel and cocoa powder in the aroma. The flavor is also heavy on the smoky roasted malts and coffee along with some brown sugar and dark chocolate covered espresso bean notes. The mouthfeel is adequately carbonated with more dry burnt roastiness in the finish. Meets all the requirements of a good Porter.

Bottle from brewolf...thanks Michael! Pours deep dark brown with a huge foamy tan head. Ashy roast on the nose, with lots of coffee, bitter dark chocolate, and charred wood. Not too aggresive, with a light milkiness that balances it out nicely. Taste is a little thinner, with lots more woodiness that comes out of nowhere and dries it all out. Some piney hops sneak in, and then the roast comes in on the finish, bold and charred. Toes the line between thick and thin in the mouth, and has just enough carbonation. The woody flavor throws me off a bit, but overall this is pretty good stuff.

On draught - pours a nice deep brown with an off-white head. Aroma consists of caramel and pine. Taste is very rich with more caramel and a hint of nut/pine. Could definitely be thicker and the abv is a bit low for my taste, but a very well crafted porter nonetheless.

(22oz bomber thanks to bu11zeye) clear ruby-brown with thick creamy dark tan head. Nose of cocoa, cream, rich, and milk chocolate. Taste of cocoa, milk chocolate, cola root, bakers chocolate, tons of flavor for the ABV. Really nice porter.

Bottle courtesy bu11zeye. Pours a brown color with some reddish notes. Brown head. Chocolate and roasted cocoa on the nose. Perhaps a touch of coffee notes as well. Nice aroma. Flavor is roasted chocolate and slight ash. Cocoa and dark malts for sure. Nice easy finish. I like it.

Superb porter. Fm Tap at the brewhouse. Not too much hop or carmel, hint of chocolate, smooth on palate, good aroma, great balanced taste. Was expecting an OK, small town beer, initial taste made me sit up and enjoy each quaff.

Muddy brown pour from bottle with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate and caramel. Taste is dark chocolate, malt and coffee. Decent, but not great.
