Cask. Pours black with a tan head. Soft roasted malt aroma with just a touch of coffee. Full, smooth body. Roasted malt flavor with coffee, caramel, brown sugar, and just a general sweetness. Nice.

draft. black with little to no head. bold roasted flavors, medium body. dry, burnt grains, coffee like flavors, with a moderately sweet backbone (molasses). a nice stout. somewhat one dimensional, but the flavor and palate were solid.

Pleasantly surprised to find this on tap at Rohrbach’s today. Very dark color, decent head, aroma is typical roasted + chocolate. The palate makes this one for me, very sweet, oily, burnt, sticky, with caramel, coffee, chocolate and an oily finish too. Well done.

bottle sampled. Pours deep black in color with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, and a hint of chocolate. Flavor of coffee, molasses, hops, and some chocolate with a nice bitter finish.

I usually like all stouts, but for some reason this one didn’t sit well with me. The flavor just wasn’t there for me.
