Draft. Pours an orange golden body with an off white head. Hoppy with notes of citrus and light grapefruit as well as a moderate malt bill. Thin with a light pine hoppiness to boot. So so.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ben4321 (2223) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 15, 2009
Location: Cask at Rattle ’N’ Hum, 9/13/09, as "Flying Bison Inferno Pod Ale"
Part of the Gotham Cask Festival
Aroma: Light citrus and floral hop notes, touch of caramel
Appearance: Mostly clear orange color
Flavor: A little stronger then the nose, hops of front, malty backbone, hop finish
Palate: Medium body, decent mouthfeel, decently long duration
Overall Impression:
Probably the most disappointing beer of the night for me. It was just a very average IPA, very little interesting going on here. Flavor was solid, but overall it was just a little too dull for my liking. I would certainly drink this one again, but it’s not close to being a top level IPA.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 blipp (3920) - Newark, New Jersey, USA - MAY 10, 2009
Draft at the Main St. pub. Pours golden orange with a thin white head. Fruity, citric hop aroma, a touch floral, with some sweeter malt. The flavor has a nice hoppy bite, some malty balance, and citric and floral notes. Very nice.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 PilsnerPeter (2959) - Flushing, New York, USA - MAR 2, 2009
Tap at Barcade’s Upstate Beer Night: (It was listed as Flying Bison Inferno IPA) Orange pour with good clarity and an off-white head. Aroma is citrusy, mild peach- fresh cascade character. The flavor has some acidic hop character- a touch catty- mild citric notes underneath a caramel sweetness followed by a piny bitterness in the finish. A straight forward, mediocre IPA.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 swoopjones (3429) - Buffalo, New York, USA - NOV 18, 2008
On tap @ Ellicottville Beer Fest. Flying Bisons stab @ pleasing the need for hops @ Pizza Plant. Probably the best hoppy Flying Bison beer ive had to date. pours a copper color. Nice citrusy hop flavor & aroma. They finally let the hops out. Not finding the British style that FB sticks to here. seemes PNW hopped. Nice beer

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2009 draft- this is the updated recipe- apparently now brewed by flying bison. intially did not care for it, but then picked up a growler from the brewery re-rate, 3/23/09- nice hop flavor and stickyness- could drink a good bit of this.
