COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Notes of rich coriander spice, bright citrus, and subtle malt backbone greet the nose. On your first sip, the citrus and spice meld with sweet bready notes and Belgian yeast undertones. This complex brew, made with both blood orange and grapefruit zest, is a full-bodied blend of two distinct styles.

Draft at lucky lab. Pours dark brown with a small off white head. The aroma has a ton of citrus rind and some spicy cardamon. The taste has a lot of the zest, spice, and a balance of roast. Nice.

Sampled on draft at Chipís in OBX. Clear dark brown pour with small ring of khaki head. Nose sweet and lightly citrusy. But on the flavor, I find that the citrus notes donít particularly play well with the dark malt and almost rye spiciness for my palate. Bitter orange pith on the finish is less orangey than bitter pith. I donít think this is a bad beer. I just didnít particularly care for it all that much.

On tap at Fries, shared with b3shine. Dark brown color, kind of clear. Good thin khaki head. Little loose lace. Medium to bigger body. Softer, smooth carbonation. More dry finish. Nice lightly roasty malt. Grapefruit hop, light toastiness, coriander. Lightly spicy, more zesty, moderate bitter taste. This is great stuff. I love trying creative style Iíve never had before. Imperial Black Wit... I can get behind that

Pours a clean/opaque black with two fingers of tight tan head. Bright green nose with lots of citrus and leafy green hops. Touch of garlic/onion component. Nice hop flavor, not a lot of dark grain interference. Round and resinous flavor with some citrus notes. Dry and light bodied with a nice citrusy finish.

On tap 4 oz. sampler at R.D.F. in Gallery Place, Washington, DC. Opaque, mahogany-black with a nice, creamy, khaki head and excellent lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, coriander, dark fruit and toasted wheat. Taste of grapefruit, orange, sweet roasted malt, raspberry and toasted wheat. Medium body and low/medium carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught. Pours a very dark brown color with a moderate tan head on it. Nose is actually filled with some dark raspberry notes and some subtle wheat elements and just a slight hint of roasting. Taste is slightly sweet and also has a subtle bit of roasting in there. Interesting.

Draft to rocks glass (thanks DrSilverworm). Looks good; cola with foamy off-white head. Smells and tastes malty, hoppy, and wheaty with a nice, balanced mouthfeel. Good beer, and an awesome spin on the style.

Draft at Beer Run. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toasted wheat, caramel, herbal hops and faint spice. The taste is caramel, bread, spruce, soy and coriander. Medium bodied. Weird, but I like it.

Didnít taste like a wit at all, but it was pretty tasty. Smooth, very drinkable, and slight roast. The citrus is present, but not overpowering. Good beer.

Didnít pick up much on the palate, perhaps some smoke and yeastyness. Appearance was dark. Flavor was full of dark roast, and finished with a nice hop bitterness. Didnít taste any wheat, but I really enjoyed this one.
