COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Notes of rich coriander spice, bright citrus, and subtle malt backbone greet the nose. On your first sip, the citrus and spice meld with sweet bready notes and Belgian yeast undertones. This complex brew, made with both blood orange and grapefruit zest, is a full-bodied blend of two distinct styles.

Sampled on draft at Chipís in OBX. Clear dark brown pour with small ring of khaki head. Nose sweet and lightly citrusy. But on the flavor, I find that the citrus notes donít particularly play well with the dark malt and almost rye spiciness for my palate. Bitter orange pith on the finish is less orangey than bitter pith. I donít think this is a bad beer. I just didnít particularly care for it all that much.

Poured deep brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of zesty citrus. Medium body, flavour of sweet, smooth tropical fruit with a lightly bitter sweet end.

Draught. Pours a very dark brown color with a moderate tan head on it. Nose is actually filled with some dark raspberry notes and some subtle wheat elements and just a slight hint of roasting. Taste is slightly sweet and also has a subtle bit of roasting in there. Interesting.

Tap at brewery. Pours dark brown with creamy off-white head. Aroma is Belgian yeast, plums, raisins, spicy and earthy hops, wheat, and light toast. Flavor is hop bitterness forward with supporting bready malts, dark fruit esters, and some spicy; dry bitter finish. Medium body and carbonation.

On draft at the Chips in Kill Devil Hills NC. Pours a dark cola brown with a tan head. Aromatic herbal nose. Flavors of raisin, citrus and spice. Intriguing mix.

World of Beer, Arlington tap: Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is weird. It is a veritable combination of a very spicy witbier with roasted malts, along with plenty of citrus. Taste gives you what you would expect from the aroma, but with an almost surprising balance. The beer starts off as a spicy Belgian ale, but then in the finish and aftertaste, the roasted character gets more pronounced. Interesting and quite good. Of all things, the aroma of this beer is nuts.

On tap @ Rattle N Hum NYC. A lovely looking really dense and lasting brown head on top of a deep dark brown body. The nose is not to extreme but I get some salty licorice traces, a little bit of wheat and itís almost grassy - like in reed. It gets much more present after a while in the glass and suddenly I get lots of fresh green coriander and basil! Oh, the basil... Fair. Quite tasty. It has a sweet licorice touch with mote of that wheat and a little bit of cardboard. Itís quite light on the mouthfeel, not directly watery but quite light and the carbonation level is about the same, light. Some roastiness towards the finish before its ending in a herbal almost dark tea like experience. Not a huge favorite but fair. 11.06.2013

Beese (2555) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 7, 2013
Draft at The White Horse in Parsonís Green, London on 6 July 2013. Poured a very dark ruby with a thin tan head. Aroma was a mix of typical wits with spicy cloves and orange peal as well as the roasted coffee and malt of a good dark beer. Initial flavours of grain and wheat with some spice which move to lingering burnt malt bitterness.

Draft at the brewery. Pours hazy dark brown with a thin light head. Tastes like mild crisp hops, hints of citrus, herbs, mint. Mild citrus, hop, and malt aroma. Light body and low carbonation.
