A unique take on a traditional style, our latest Brewhouse Rarities release is a Black Lager brewed with cherries and cocoa. Chocolate and spice greet the nose and flavors of sweet cherry, dark caramel, chocolate, and delicate earthy bitterness tease the palate.

Serving: Draft at MacDowell Brew Kitchen. It pours black with a very slight head. The nose is a little faint (perhaps a bit too cold) with light roasted malt notes. The roasted component strikes the tongue first with some earth, a slight bitterness, and a light cherry finish. Crisp and clean. The parts play well together and it has good balance. Nice brew.

2012.02.22 - On tap at Always Ronís. Dark brown in color. Head is pretty sticky, adhering to glass everywhere. Aroma indistinct to me. Taste as expected, a dark beer with a bit of fruity aftertaste. Not as distinctly cherry as something like Onmegang Three Philosophers. Pretty good.
