Brewed exclusively for the 2013 Craft Brewers Conference (and a collaborative project with Reyes Beverage Group), Bloodline is an intensely-hopped IPA brewed with Blood Orange peel and juice.

According to our Brewmaster Matt Brophy, the result is a flavor profile that harnessed the best aspects of both the hops (Warrior, Citra, and Galaxy) and the citrus. He and his brewing team are very fond of hop-based citrus aromas, so experimenting with actual citrus was a natural extension of that.

2014 version is brewed with Northern Brewer, Citra and Galaxy.

Good taste and aroma, verging on very good. Certainly enjoyed the beer and would drink again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at Bishops Arms Järntorget, Göteborg. Hazy golden beer with a nice lasting offwhite head. Hoppy citrus aroma, floral, grassy, herbal notes, caramel, onion notes, some biscuits. Hoppy grassy flavor, hay, floral, some herbal. Probably hasn’t travelled too well.

Keg at Akkurat, Stockholm. Cloudy amber, creamy head. Buttery fruity grapefruit aroma. Mid sweet medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Minty pears, caramel and some citrus. Muddled fruity caramel dominates. Mid bitter finish. OK-ish.

Aroma is orange/citrus, fruit and a hint of pine. The flavor is orange/citrus, grapefruit, malts and a mix of mild fruit sweetness and bitterness in the finish.

12oz. Said it before, I’ll say it again: love the wave of blood orange IPA’s happening right now. This fits the bill properly as well bringing a nice tartness to the center of the palate. Good stuff, wish it was as pricey as it is for a 6er...

On tap @ Logan Tavern Washington DC. Pours a dark gold/Amber with a small white head. Aromas are citrus dominant but I get more grapefruit than orange. Tastes are citrus dominant (maybe some subtle sweet orange) with a pretty laid back hop kick for an IPA. In fact, I'd sooner call it an APA. Light to medium body and carbonation. Creamy with a light, medium citrus finish. Pleasant but not what I would consider true to the IPA style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Clear dark gold, nice lacing. Very fruity nose. Clean taste. A bit of a bite, dry, not over the top, Anne did not think it was a true IPA.
