On tap at Churchkey. Clear gold pour with white head. Aroma is super herbal, bay leaves rosemary and juniper dominate. Slightly peppery aroma, some faint soapy aromas are present as well. Taste is herbal, again a juniper and rosemary bomb, slightly grainy finish. Palate is med bodied with low/smooth carbonation. Overdone.

(bottle, 35.5cl) Hazy, amber colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Slightly cara-malty aroma, slightly syrupy with ginger and spice-laden notes. Mildly bitter-tart flavour, quite light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Soft cara-malt character with present notes of ginger spices and other spices in combination with a dry mouthfeel; dry and bitter-tart finish with spicy and slightly ethereally notes. Speaking of bitterness and dryness, the US-brew comes closer to an IPA than the Scottish example, which is more balanced on the other side. 22.X.12

I was told it was an IPA but not an IPA with 0 IBUs so my expectation was way off when i was drinking it. At first i thought the lines weren’t clean form the old bay and salt beer they had before but now i realize that it was just the beer. The aroma was about the only strong thing about it. Taste was of mixed herbs that i couldn’t put my finger on. Will need to re-rate.

From a bottle poured an amber color with a fair amount of head. Odd hoppy malty flavor with a quick finish.

Draught at O’Connor’s, Uppsala. Hazy amber, minimal head. Spicy sourish ginger aroma. Medium bodied with clean, limp crystal malt character and some syrup. Loads of pizza spices, gingery and lemony. Low bitterness in a finish with syrup and alcohol.

Bottle from my friend Mike. Colour is clear chestnut brown with a thin white head. There’s lots of white amoebic stuff floating in it which isn’t very appetising. Nose is more promising. There’s fresh ginger, ground ginger spice, caramel. Hmmm... taste is papery, flat tasting, cardboard, ginger, but maybe not so fresh, and an not altogether pleasant tang on the tongue like ear wax. Not great.

This is a cool beer but isn’t my favourite out of the two International Arms Race beers, I feel that they are both pretty inactive, I wouldn’t call them favourites or even ones I would go out of my way to revisit however they are quite interesting no less and a good bit of international fun between two amazing breweries. Orange/red body, little to no head, dried apricot aroma, quite a leveled taste really feels quite a dried out fruit taste, back end taste feels quite watery and particularly lacking the punch you expect from a Flying Dog brew however It is pretty easy to drink and it is still a worthwhile drink!

Bottle. Pours clear orange/copper with a medium, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is citrus and floral hops, passion fruit, apricot, and peach esters with light straw and honey malt. Flavor is medium hops and bitterness, assorted spices, fruity esters, light malt and a dry finish. Medium-light body, medium carbonation.
