2.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle from bottle-shop.co.uk
Small yellowish head, instantly disappearing. Lightly hazy orange colour. Aroma pineapple, grapefruit, orange, green apple, grass, overall fruity, fresh and quite tempting. Taste is hard to describe. Initially almost light heavy sour-tart, as if you lick a whole orange. Over time turns into medium bitter, very distant elderberry. The finish is long and literally earthy tart. Overall I think there is orange flavour floating over everything else, along with dirt. As it warms, also elderberry. This is very interesting, pity I can not say enjoyable. I must say this is much closer to IPA than the Brewdog one, but despite that I liked Brewdog better, they are my personal winners of the race :-)

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
THOUGHTS: Very interesting. Not bad either, as a stand alone beer but it was an awful IPA. Smelled a lot like a grapefruit. The flavor was almost like fruit juice. It smelled and tasted like it should’ve been bitter but it wasn’t.
TECHNICAL: Drank 3/2/2013. Bottle. Poured a murky, dark, slightly brownish orange with a small, off-white head that fully diminished and left virtually no lacing. The aroma didn’t have many beer smells. There was light gain and caramel; and odd herbal tea; something very much like grapefruit; sort of fruity; and something artificial. The initial flavor was moderately sweet, lightly acidic and slightly bitter; while the finish was mod sweet and slightly bitter. There was caramel, some odd grapefruit flavor that wasn’t bitter; herbal tea with sweetener, and something artificial. The medium body was fairly oily with fizzy carbonation and an ever-so-slight metallic finish.

På flaska @ Printz. Mörk bärnstensfärgad. Luktar svagt blommigt. Smakar svagt av peppar. En svag eftersmak av beska.

Memory banks rate - and as I recall, better than the Brewdog version, more ginger, less ’medicinal’. Drinkable, if not entirely fun.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Very shorts beige head. The bottle contains big Flames of debrie that floats around in the glass. Strange aroma of orange-cola soft-drink. Sweet taste and much caramell. Tvist must be One of the sotar beers theese two excellent brewes have made.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
355ml bottle @ The Bhurtpore Inn, Aston. Basically tastes like waking up drunk in a flower bed wearing your Nan’s flowery dress and pot pourri in your hear. Fruity, potent & although others on the table thought it was offensively bad, I rather liked it.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Slightly hazy bronze and copper coloured body with a muddy amer glow and a thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of chocolate, fennel seed, pine and a bit of cleanser - definitely more astringent than the brewdog version. Medium-bodied; Assertive herbal notes at first gives way to a medicinal and woodsy flavour that shows some juniper berry and alcohol finishes. Aftertaste has some light chocolate and sweet notes that fade to a dry, herbal note and leaves the palate very astringent and not too pleasant. Overall, a pretty poor beer, period. Tasting this horizontally, I prefered the British version given that it was slightly less astringent and showing a bit more complexity around the herbs making it more of a gruit. Regardless, these aren’t for the faint of heart and are not worth searching out if you’d even want to try that - don’t. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle adjacent to the American (Flying Dog) version of this beer on 23-March-2014 at home in Washington with this specific twelve ounce bottle purchased at Whole Foods in Tyson’s Corner (Falls Church), Virginia on 31-October-2012 for US$2.59.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
