Hazy amber color, nice creamy head. Simple aroma. The body is not very strong, but with a good mix of malt caramel and hop, lightly fruity taste. Long bitterness.

Bottle, 2006-03-13, 7-3-5-3-12=30
Beautiful amber color. Not strong aroma, but resiny. Very light taste, with some apricot fruitness. Below expectations..

Nicely colored on pour. Good aroma and not overpowering on the hops. Refreshing.

I think Rajendra said it all in his rating. Classic american style pale ale. This beer had everything that this style should have. Copper in color, with a thick, foamy head. Strong floral hops aroma. It makes you think an ass kicking is coming to your palate, but the flavor is not as great as the aroma. I hate to make this sound bad, because I believe this beer is actually just the opposite. It is good. If you look at the packaging on the six pack it indicates that this is a light bodied, hoppy beer. The hops are just average. This makes this an awesome sessional. Perfect for a boatside session on the dock, in the 95 degree summer heat. Just thinking about it makes me want to drink more. Like I said. Classic of the style. Another winner for the boys at Flying Dog

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2007 Bottle from Utobeer. In terms of labels, I think this brewery wins. Attractive red/copper colour with beige head. Warm spice, malt, hop aroma. Tangerine fruit. Good dry malt. Good balance. Flavours are quite understated. Fine if not overly special. Bizarrely a flavour on the finish reminded me of cucumber. Don’t know why. 3.2/5.0 Re-rate, bottle from Utobeer. Amber, lasting beige head. Lovely aroma of classic grapefruit PNW hops, piney resinous hop. After a long day with too much rain and cycling, this was perfect supping beer. Decent earthy malts and then this very good piney resiny hop. Nice balance, needs more malt maybe. Good pale ale mind.

Pours a bronzy copper. Taste is fresh and light, with moderate hops followed by a backbone of light malt…finish is a bit watery as this isn’t as bitter nor as dry as I prefer in a beer. But as the point is made it is very good for its style.

Classic American Pale Ale look to me consists of a clear amber body, two finger thick foamy head, and lively display of carbonation, and this beer had it. The smell of the beer was a hair more hoppy than the average for the style, although not so much to throw it out of balance. Taste was balanced as well, with toasty sweet caramel and fruity malt and herbal bitter and slightly floral hops. Mouthfeel was medium thick and the aftertaste both bitter and sweet. The beer was very easy to drink, and it would have been no problem to make a session of this, but I only got one bottle in a World Market sampler pack.

Not a bad Pale Ale. The IPA from the brewey is better, but a nice attempt. It pours a nice copper color with a hit of malt flavor and finishes with a nice hops flavor.

Typical, average pale ale. Nothing special going on. Some piney, cleaner tasting hop notes...not really any citrus though.

Bottled. Nice caramel color with a bouquet of hop upon pouring. A big tan APA head billows up top. Tangy and piney hops in the first impression, nestled in a pillow of toasty malts. Strong Northwestern hop profile, but one that finishes nice and clean. Leaves the lips pretty sticky. A sturdy, drinkable example of this style.
