UPDATED: APR 5, 2006 Bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a moderate off-white head. Initially a very nice strong aroma of fresh floral hops, although getting weak and metallic after the head dissipates. The first few sips are bitter, but it quickly mellows out. Dominated by fresh-tasting hops, a mildly sweet malt backbone, and a light grassy/vegetal flavor. Mild carbonation. Very well crafted.

Pours a light coppery glass with a slightly off white head. A nice hop aroma. Smoothly carbonated palate but just a little watery but still a very good PA. Light bitter start with a decent bitter finish. Just a slight grassy flavor(not overpowering) and I’m not convinced that is a bad thing. I will gladly finish the other four.

Definitely one of Flying Dog’s best. Nice blend of caramel flavor from the malt and floral hop notes. One tasty beer!

Standing in the grocery and looking for a beer to go with chillin at my lake house for the weekend, and I noticed the very cool slider scales on the six pack cartons of the Flying Dog beers which give an indication of how hoppy and dark the beer. This one was a decent choice for the purpose. Fresh, very hoppy aroma. Flavor was weighted to the hops but it also had a good malt backbone and medium body. Nice and flavorful, as well as refreshing on the first really warm weekend in north Florida. Better than I expected, and the best of the Flying Dogs regular lineup that I have had so far (Road Dog, Tire Bite). A decent APA for $7.19 for a six pack at a country grocery an hour away from Jacksonville FL.

Nice American Pale Ale, it has a nice smooth flavor, a little fruit flavor that I couldn’ tmake out but I could still taste the hops which is what I like in pale ales.

Raw honey amber with a small but persistant cap of light tan head. For a dry hopped beer the aroma level is pretty low. Some orange peel and cinnamon, a touch of gingerbread sweetness, oregano, a little bit of cold sweat. Flavor is kind of a light grainy maltiness with just a touch of the syrup that canned peaches come in. Hop presense is mild, but of the chewy, resiny variety. Nice moderate level of carbonation. A little touch of green vegital quality to the finish. Not a bad APA. I bet this one improves a lot on tap.

Hazy amber color, nice creamy head. Simple aroma. The body is not very strong, but with a good mix of malt caramel and hop, lightly fruity taste. Long bitterness.

Bottle, 2006-03-13, 7-3-5-3-12=30
Beautiful amber color. Not strong aroma, but resiny. Very light taste, with some apricot fruitness. Below expectations..

Nicely colored on pour. Good aroma and not overpowering on the hops. Refreshing.
