COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dry Hopped with a load of Cascade hops grown in the Pacific Northwest. Doggie Style has enough hop character to satisfy hop-heads, but isnít overpoweringly hoppy. Itís brilliant amber-copper color and pleasant malt flavor comes from the addition of Carastan malts.

Had this one bottled. Not nearly as hoppy as I like my IPAs, this one was more nuanced with notes of citrus. Okay, but certainly not the best Pale on the market.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2005 I was very happy with this beer. Itís a bit more balanced than the IPAs that Iíve gotten used to drinking. Itís a got a good healthy dose of hops, but it doesnít completely overpower the malty flavor like in your average IPA. This stuff is on tap at the Firebird Grill in Durham, NC... Probably the best beer on tap there. I havenít seen any other Flying Dogs on tap in Durham. Also, you canít beat Flying Dog for label art. dang. Rerate: Apparently this stuff has been renamed "Classic Pale Ale." I was a bit confused at first. I rated this a little high in the appearance department first time around. 4 instead of 3. The flavor was solid for a Pale Ale, but the palate leaves a little something to be desired. Definitely a great beer overall.

Pours strawlike in color with a white frothy head. Smells of flowers and grass. Tastes of grass, hay and meadow with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Dark amber pour pretty transparent. Small head that laces a little. Aroma is caramel and hops and a little grapefruit. Citrus flavor comes through over the malt background. Nice dry bitter finish and citrus aftertaste hangs on a bit. A little watery on the palate but overall a decent western APA. If you like citrus this is the one for you.

dark amber color, no head. mild hop aroma, kind of woody flavor. no fizz, with a slighty fruity aftertaste. overall, a bit too fruity for me.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2005 Dark amber color, that is a little murkey. Good lingering head. Nice lacing. Rich aroma. Sweet finish for a pale ale. Palate doesnít linger very long. Good overall beer.

this beer surprised me. Itís pretty damn good. it deserves a higher percentile. But anyhoo-- dark amber color (for a pale ale). Very nice hop flavor and a nice dry finish

Brown beer with small tan head. Nice grapefruit aroma that lingers on the palate. Lively hoppy beer. Bitter, dry finish.
