Nice clear orange/gold body. Off-white small fizzy head mostly dissipates. Aroma is nice with caramelly/butterscotchy grapefruit hops. Slightly soured taste, with some bread and lemon hops. Tastes good enough, but isn't spectacular. Is ok overall, but could have improved the flavor slightly.

Medium sized offwhite head, fair retention and lace. Clear amber colored brew, sharp. Large fruity nose, some citrus also. Medium body. Medium sweet malt flavors, biscuity along with fruity hop flavors. Finish is a tad sweet, a decent pale ale though.

Bov (10117) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - APR 1, 2004
UPDATED: JUN 14, 2007 clear reddish-amber colour with a solid creamy pale beige head; nice lacing, generous flowery aromatic hoppiness; slightly oily mouthfeel; medium to full-bodied; a touch of sweetness soon met by a fair bitterness; long flowery, hoppy aftertaste - pleasant

Pours clear and golden with nice head, good lacing from initial head. Not much to speak of thereafter. Great aroma! Fruit and honey; it smells like juice. The flavor, however, does not deliver. Weak flavor, lightly fruity, lightly hops bitter: nothing exciting. =[ Mouthfeel is nice medium. Overall: drinkable beer, smells great, but not spectacular.

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2007 This was quite a surprise on my tongue. A very good pale ale that is fairly hoppy with right balance of malts.

One of the better Flying Dof brews. Each time I see a Flying Dog I think I am getting something better than what actually comes out of the bottle. This brewery makes middle of the road brews but this is one of their better beers.

Suttree (5376) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 26, 2004
Clear copper, no head. Citrusy, bready aromaCrispy, lemony hop profile, mild malt and a bit of smoke. Slightly further above average than their other beers, if only because its so drinkable.

Maybe should spend more time comenting on the label than the beer? There's enough here to make me think that it is not unreasonable for this brewery to produce something that I would enjoy. Thus far all have seemed to be near misses. Hops and malt and something lacking in getting it all to work for me.

Bottled. Amber with a fine lacy white head. Hoppy aroma which is smoother, more mellow and mature then the straight IPA. Still generous hop flavour. Decent bitter finish with this beer.

Holdwine (1111) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 10, 2004
Average micro-pale. Coppery pour with a decent lasting head. A little too sweet. Not enough hops for me (being a hophead), but I won't hold that against it.
