One of the better Flying Dof brews. Each time I see a Flying Dog I think I am getting something better than what actually comes out of the bottle. This brewery makes middle of the road brews but this is one of their better beers.

Suttree (5355) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 26, 2004
Clear copper, no head. Citrusy, bready aromaCrispy, lemony hop profile, mild malt and a bit of smoke. Slightly further above average than their other beers, if only because its so drinkable.

Maybe should spend more time comenting on the label than the beer? There's enough here to make me think that it is not unreasonable for this brewery to produce something that I would enjoy. Thus far all have seemed to be near misses. Hops and malt and something lacking in getting it all to work for me.

Spiesy (2338) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - MAR 18, 2004
Bottled. Amber with a fine lacy white head. Hoppy aroma which is smoother, more mellow and mature then the straight IPA. Still generous hop flavour. Decent bitter finish with this beer.

Holdwine (1104) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 10, 2004
Average micro-pale. Coppery pour with a decent lasting head. A little too sweet. Not enough hops for me (being a hophead), but I won't hold that against it.

BUrunner (92) - Indiana, USA - MAR 9, 2004
A decent pale ale with mild hoppy bitterness. A middle of the road beer that neither excels or fails.

I bought a 6 pack and it quickly disappeared. I really liked this beer but more hops would have made it superb. Where was the sediment?

kwoeltje (2233) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - MAR 7, 2004
Amber copper with small head. Mild hops aroma. Flavor is mild cascade hops. A decent enough pale ale overall, and one of the better beers by Flying Dog.

Veldy (65) - Coon Rapids, Minnesota, USA - MAR 7, 2004
This is a wonderful American Pale Ale. A little citrus and spice in the nose and caramel on the palate. Dry enough to be quite drinkable and hoppy enough to satisfy me for a little while after each sip. Really a well balanced beer. As usual for the Flying Dog beers, it holds a wonderful head.

MilkmanDan (1943) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - MAR 7, 2004
Copper with an off-white head. Nose is malty, a bit off with a vegetable scent to it. Well-hopped, bitter and citric, decent bready malts at the finish. Decent.
