COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dry Hopped with a load of Cascade hops grown in the Pacific Northwest. Doggie Style has enough hop character to satisfy hop-heads, but isnít overpoweringly hoppy. Itís brilliant amber-copper color and pleasant malt flavor comes from the addition of Carastan malts.

This really nice ale has "enough hop character to satisfy hop-heads" (flying dog website). Being a hophead myself, I couldn't stop trying to get all the flavor out of each sip. Very satisfying and unique brew that must have come from some very clean lines and a fresh keg. It left nothing to be desired.

A great pale ale. Crisp, clean, good hop character and finish. Light/medium bodied.

This is a very good PA, but thereís just something missing. I cannot place it, because I love almost all of the Flying Dog beers. I think itís something in the aroma, and the feeling that they just couldíve done better.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2008 honestly, this beer shocked the gonzo right out of me. solid pale ale goodness delivered on a balanced bed of malts and hops. small expectation met with big flavor. deep reddish haze topped with crisp white cap. strands of carbonation bubbles whisped and curled in constant ascension. aroma speaks of malts tinged with toffee and post-dinner english tea sweetness. flavors range from caramel to butter, from bread to grass, from tart to sweet tang. this is a good beer. a very good beer. iím imaging this beer with a charred cheeseburger, or poured into a perfect batch of beer bread. doggie style classic pale ale takes top spot in the flying dog line-up. consider this pale ale as standard as sam adams lager.

Draught at the Wildeman, Amsterdam on 20th March 2009. Pale gold with foamy white head. Exquisitely hoppy and dry throughout, with the malt flavours in the first kick. Long dry finish. Well looked-after at the Amsterdam pub. Recommended.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2012 Clear red body with solid head. Loads of hops and yeast. Herbs, leaves and hint of alcohol; very rich. Good bitterness, very little sweetness. Hops are very apparent in aftertaste as well. Interesting drink. (33cl bottle) (Rating re-indexed)

I really liked this beer. It has a lot going for it. First, the aroma. Floral and hoppy. Iím not sure floral is the word Iím looking for, but itís the best I can come up with. Then thereís the taste. Superbly balanced between the malt and delicious hops. Thereís something else in there that I canít quite identify, probably the same thing I couldnít quite identify in the aroma. It makes for an interesting pale ale, and it works. This is definitely one Iíll come back to again.

I was surprised. I assumed the excellent artwork on the bottle was a compensation for a mediocre product. I was wrong. This is a fantastic PA with an amazing nose and crisp flavor that finishes cleanly.
