3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dogtoberfest Marzen. Aroma is faint, subtle spices are light and under-represented. Color is a beautiful earthy reddish brown. Palate releases smoky almond notes. Finish is a smooth blend of semi-bitterness and honey.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at home split with Sarah, from beer hawk. Reddy amber coloured pour with a lasting light cream coloured head. Aroma is clean nutty malts, jammy fruits, strawberry, jam on toast. Flavour is composed of semi sweet grains, toasted grains , raspberry, light honey. Little age. Palate is medium sweet, nutty, highish carbonation. Pretty tasty but the yeast profile is a bit boring.

It's an Octoberfest.....it's good. I mean all Octoberfest are the same. If anything, this has a slight bitter taste.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Whole Foods. Deep brown mahogany colour. Very malty beer this with an unusual spicy and fruity toffee note to it. Quite sweet. Drinks ok considering the maltiness, but still not as smooth as real German versions.

Received in the October beer club from beer hawk. Light and slightly watery, not a lot of flavour but inoffensive

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle on 1st Oct 2015: last beer of the night in The Crown Inn, Oakengates Shropshire. Clear reddy brown body with a beige toping. Nose was spiced toffee blocks with fruit and nuts in the mix (think Bluebird Toffee if you are British). The taste was also toffee like and semi-sweet in nature. Not like any Oktoberfest beer I have had before, but I liked this offering from a brewery I have not had a beer from for a long time: mental note to find some more offerings from these guys.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into dimpled mug, best before 12/11/2015. Pours crystal clear reddish copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of brown sugar, brown bread, toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors with minimal yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good Oktoberfest style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of dark/bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Keg at Volta, Didsbury. Hazy brownish amber. Slightest of heads. Toffee, anise, and a big fat maltiness all the way through. Touch of earthy bittering hops. Not notably sweet. Seems like a pretty solid example of the style.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) A clear amber colour with a thin off white head. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel, some honey, slight molasses and subtle bread, smells just like malt from a can. Taste is similar of toasted malts, caramel, some honey, slight wood, grain and subtle vegetable. Light bodied and moderate carbonation, but went flat quick. A toasty bitterness in the finish. Annoyingly unaspiring, really like this brewery but this is an average malty beer. Drinkable though.
