Double Dog Double Pale Ale Back by popular demand, our original "Wild Dog Release" is back, and this time itís for good. Double Dog Double Pale Ale is a generously hopped ale with a deep red color and pours with a nice frothy head. The abundance of hops will conjure some provocative aromas with hints of raisins and citrus.

smells really nice but this beer smells and looks MEAN. And? It IS....The small uneven head dissipates quickly, two pulls on the glass and Itís obvious from the lacing this is high octane stuff. The taste is really almost into IIPA territory yet hangs back a bit. The DELICIOUS malts used in this beer then un-sheath their swords. Yikes. The hops are mid-palate and very cool. The bitterness never trying to spar with those deadly delicious malts. This is a damn good beer and seems to me to be almost of a style all Itís own.

355ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Big resin aromas, oily, pine. Taste is sticky, dried fruit, more oily resins. None too sticky for the strength. Good stuff.

Clear amber with a nice white head. Floral, light citrus aroma. Caramel, malt, citrus bitterness taste. Good beer

Clear brilliant deep copper with a foamy light beige head. Lovely citrusy sweet nose with orange and lime rind with a sweet bit of floral resins and tropical juiciness, but also with a staunch caramalt tone. Big bold flavor that starts hoppy bitter with big orange and grapefruit rind, brash floral resins, a hoppy sugary sweetness, and more citrus and acidic bitterness with a semisweet caramelly undertone. If it were less acidic it would be pretty swell. But the first part of the flavor profile leaves a bit to be desired.

Amber pour, the hops hit hard in the aroma and finish, cutting through the abv to make a easy drinking 11.5 % beer. Great stuff.

330ml bottle poured in a chalice A: Beautiful orange to red color with some particles floating around. A yellow creamy small head which dissipates quickly leaving quite a lot of lacings S: Flowery hops on the nose. Citrus, pine and pineapple. Quite skunky too. Alcohol is quite imperceptible to the high ABV T: Fresh hops, basically. Very malty too. Honey and pineapple. Sweet caramel upfront followed by a dry hoppy bitter end. Extremely bitter, itís a 85 IBU and I would give it 100, I mean, delicious :) M: Creamy heavy body. Molasses. Medium carbonation. Delicious bitter aftertaste O: Delicious beer. Good drinkability. Go for this one if you like a good and bitter American IIPA [ BA Review @ 2/27/2010 ]

amber color; citrusy hop aroma; a strong, bitter, citrusy hoppy flavor, yet fairly well balanced; fairly easy drinking for an 11.5% abv ale

Aber with a small head, low carbo. Aroma has vaguely some hops, somewhat soapy. Alcoholic taste, ipa -like but the acohol is way far too dominant. A bit over the top.

"double dog - i knew it had a good rep, so not a total surprise, but one of the top 2-3 beers from this brewer, easy. nice thick body and manages a malt-hop balance (sweet malt and citrus) while still being adequately hoppy on itís own. nice brew."
