Bottled. Beer is lightly hazy, medium amber with an average-sized, light brown, frothy, diminishing, but mostly lasting head. Clingy, lasting, creamy cuff of lace on the snifter.

First impression on the nose is like breaking up a hop party. The aroma is malty with a light note of toasted grain, moderate note of biscuity caramel; Hoppy with heavy notes of resin/pine, cologne-like herbal, moderate grapefruit oil, lighter notes of dried apricot and green grass; Yeasty with a light of dough; Moderate notes of alcohol.

The flavor is is heavily bitter, heavily sweet, light-to-moderately acidic and boozy warm with a long, lightly sweet, moderately bitter finish. Light astringency on gums.

The beer is full, the texture is syrupy and the carbonation is lively.

A hot hop wall without a lot of complexity. Not bad, but not liver-worthy.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap. Amber-like body, with a nice everlasting light brown head. Nice hoppy aroma. Exceptional bittersweet and alcoholic flavour, that is downgraded because of a persistant heavy-bitter aftertaste. Almost full-bodied, average carbonation, oily and smooth texture. Would be a favourite, if it wasn’t for that extremely bitter aftertaste.

From a bottle. Hazy gold with frothy white head. Lots of citrus and pine resin hop aroma. This is balanced with some raisin and caramel sweetness, substantial alcohol presence on the back end, some bitterness on the finish... I can see why it did well in Beer madness last year...

Has that usual smell like most Flying Dogs. Dry, dry, dry beer. Not a big fan of anything Flying Dog makes, so I’m not a fair reviewer of the product.

Strong alcohol nose. Some citrus fighting to get out but mostly caramel sweet alcohol aroma. Taste is big treacle sweetness but body is medium. Slight bitterness on finish. Too sweet and unbalanced and feel this is too strong in abv which is mismanaged.

Pours a nice amber color with a medium white head. Oily texture and average carbonation. Aromas are caramel, raisins and pine. Huge bitter finish. Bitter/alcoholic side of the beer seems to overwhelm other aromas.

Aroma : resin, citrus, alcohol,

Bottle. Clear gold - tea color with nice white head which lacing glass. Aroma is a mix of american hops, pines, resins, some citrus like grapefruit, apples with malty sweetness. Taste is very sweet with powerfull bitter background. Something like resinous, hoppy liqueur. Smooth flavours of citrus, tropical fruits, pines, caramel and malts. Long, warming finish with a bit alcohol flavours. Low carbonation with full body. Texture is very oily, thick and smooth. This is heavy, tasting beer - to slowly drinking. I like it ;)
