Double Dog Double Pale Ale Back by popular demand, our original "Wild Dog Release" is back, and this time itís for good. Double Dog Double Pale Ale is a generously hopped ale with a deep red color and pours with a nice frothy head. The abundance of hops will conjure some provocative aromas with hints of raisins and citrus.

Pours hazy amber with medium off white head Aromas of pine, resin, caramel, dried fruits Taste has immense resin and caramel charcters. Notes of pine, liqourise, burned brown sugar, butter. More barley wine than DIPA but overall very nice

Bottle from Beer Heaven in Philly. Dark clear amber, small beige head. Surprisingly, lots of malt in both aroma and taste. Hops add astringency. Nice tangy, bitter finish

Thereís a certain comfort in certainty, especially when it comes to things that are close to you. Strange as it may seem, when it comes to beer, Iím old-fashioned that way; I like to know wxactly what it is Iím drinking and I expect the beer to mostly conform to its style (ballpark - sort of like virtuoso guitar playing within the context of the song) So when I sit down to drink an American beer, I expect a hoppy, bitter, aromatic concoction. Especially when itís from a brewery thatís given me so many great beers of that ilk. Fair to say, the Double dog shattered all my conceptions. For starters, itís a frightful 11% ABV - thatís in Belgian tripel territory (and we know all about those crazy drunk Flemish loons and their seductive boozy ales). Itís a double IPA - I expect to have my tongue curled by bitterness, instead I get a malty sweetness thatís more like an English ale. Thankfully, the grapefruit aroma is comforting - at least somethingís familiar! This is a big, bold, brash yet magnificently disguised beer. Worth experiencing, even if only for the sensory rush. Bottle from the drink store. Appearance: Ruby red, tiny off white head, Aroma: Can be smelled from an arms length, big sweet hoppy aroma, lots of brown sugar, pine, bread, raisin, such a big aroma. Flavour: Big hoppy bitter bite right off, pine, citrus, resin, malty, a little boozy with a gorgeous bitterness, lovely long pine and bitter finish, this bottle seems to be over a year old and itís tremendous.
