Commercial Description:
Double Dog Double Pale Ale Back by popular demand, our original "Wild Dog Release" is back, and this time it’s for good. Double Dog Double Pale Ale is a generously hopped ale with a deep red color and pours with a nice frothy head. The abundance of hops will conjure some provocative aromas with hints of raisins and citrus.

Pours clear amber from the 12oz. bottle: Nose is hops (IPA style): earthy, grassy, citrusy, and floral. Flavors are similar, but with added caramel, brown sugar, and maybe some molasses. Oily with medium carbonation. The bitterness in this beer is right on. Drinkability: Moderate bitter with heavy hops. Pretty solid. Rebuy: Yes. #186 on 05112009, DG.

Per gli amanti del genere è una bella kikketta! ottima double ipa dal naso floreale con note marcate di liquirizia e il maltato carico e molto rotondo ke copre l’alta gradazione rendendola anke beverina.... molto buona!

Draft @ Beertemple, Amsterdam. Hazel brownish red with golden-orange glow, nice foam head. Hoppy aroma with orange-peel, citrus and hops. Party of yeasty fruit in the mouth. Awesome.

Pours a hazy orange with a dense compact vanilla head. Very fragrant citrus aroma (kumquats) along with some resin and sweet toffee. Heavy dense mouthfeel, chewy. Big flavours of sweet toffee, citrus, and massive resinous bitterness. No hint of the ABV, dangerously drinkable and flavourful. More!

Pours out of the bottle a hazy reddish amber with a smallish head. Complex smell with some hops. Very complex, well balanced taste.

Bottle. Pours deep orange with a small white head. Fruity aroma with hops. Also some caramel, citrus and biscuits. Taste was similar, aftertaste was very bitter. Quite heavy body. Easy to drink despite the high alcohol content.

$2.29 for a single 12oz. / Nicely done my Flying Dog friends! Very strong hops in aroma and taste without being too overpowering. Based upon previous experience (Doggie Style Classic Pale Ale-god awful), I was prepared to be disappointed. Flying Dog really nailed this one! I’m not willing to trust everything Flying Dog produces, but this beer certainly redeedms them from my previous experience.

It smells sweet and musky like it has been aged in Belgian cellars. The flavors resembles this as well but it is not as smooth as the label says. There is definitely potent flavors of hops and booze on the palate, especially significant at the end.

7 oz bottle. Pours a deep lightly hazy glowing orange with a thick creamy off white head. Aroma is a very nice blend of caramel and toffee with fresh piney hops. The hops are a bit strong for a pale ale but they don’t take away from the maltiness. Flavor starts sweet and very caramely, gains a nice strong but not bitter hop character, finishing hoppy yet smooth. I’m a bit torn about this because t’s very hoppy for a pale ale but its not too bitter. This is good though for pale ale’ers who don’t love the sharp bitterness.
