argo0 (6145), Washington DC, USA Apr 28, 2008 (12oz bottle) Crystal clear apple juice body topped by thin off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, floral, light honey, spicy. Taste is medium sweet, spicy/floral, light honey, flower/peach. Light-medium body. They may use French hops, but that doesn’t make this filtered beer a BdG. Not bad, but not a BdG either. hopdog (4526), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 7, 2008 12oz bottle. Poured a medium golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of grass, grains, yeast, and light spices. Tastes of fruitiness, lighter spices, biscuit, and some citrus. Thinner body. hopscotch (4433), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Jun 30, 2008 Bottle... Clear, light golden ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. The nose provides peppery, spicy notes flanking a lesser touch of honey. Medium-bodied with prickly carbonation. Bland, minerally flavor with whispers of pale grains. Balanced and inoffensive, but not much of a show-stopper. Minerally, watery finish. muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jun 8, 2008 12 ounce bottle from City Market in Burlington, VT (June 2008) served not much above fridge temperate (hey, it’s hot here!) from a Duvel glass. Luminous, bright and just a touch hazy golden body surmounted by a massive smooth fine-bubbled and very slow to fade headthat leaves zero lacing.....aroma offers a bit of nice bready malt, hints of citrus and coriander, but is severely disfigured by an underlying vegetal edge....body is lightly sweet at the front, firmly malty-doughy in the middle, somewhat dry and mineralic at the finish; no real earthy qualities, heck not really much character at all; it’s a mediocre, drinkable golden ale with really no BDG style notes at all. Oh well, I didn’t really expect much more from this brewery...
