Cask->honker: Pours a quickly diminishing head atop a black body. Aroma of malt, heading towards chocolate. Body is full, moderately sweet, coating the palate with a milky sensation. Very good, but could be heavy. I think the cask lightens the load somewhat.

On Cask at Barley’s Mini Real Ale Fest on 5/12/12. Listed as plain ol’ Gonzo, but this thing was hoppy and oaky as hell. Darkest brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of piney hops, roast and oak. Big oak flavor with bitter grassy hops and a roasty finish. Not bad, but I prefer the original Gonzo.

S: Thick. Black. Dark head.
A: Not too powerful, but gives a slight hint of what’s to come. Sweet. Boozy.
T: Rich. Vanilla. Sweet. Boozy. Rich. Complex, but not as much as other top beers.
Overall: This beer is awesome. Delicious. Complex. Warming. It is very good.

Cask at white horse meet the brewer event.
ruity, vanilla ice-cream, chocolate and boozy nose with coffee, resinous hops and even more chocolate in the luxuriantly thick body. The oak adding extra vanilla and the dry hops rounding out the beer. This is exponentially better than the bottled version, and that is already a great beer.

Cask at the White Horse, RBESG 2011.
Black and flat. Flavors of blackberry, dark chocolate, coffee, oak, vanilla. Tasty yet quite boozy for the abv. Nice chocolate, though.

Cask at Churchkey- an exclusive Birch&Barley/ChurchKey version. The pour is near jet black with no head formation. No aroma. Taste is olives, sweat, salt, roast, tangy, tart, ashy cigarettes, pepper. Really disgusting.

Cask. Small beige head atop black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, orange, roast, some oak, light bittersweet chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet, bittersweet chocolate, some orange/grapefruit, light wood, roast. Medium body, some stickiness, low carbonation.
