Commercial Description:
Like Hunter S. Thompson...Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 7.8% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if you don’t show it the proper respect. IBU’s: 85

Bottle- thanks Will. "Vintage 08" printed on the side. Aroma of cherry, chocolate, coffee. Color is black as night. Very fluffy head. Flavor is bitter and rich, heavily roasted malts. Great body. Smoky malt dominates- not much nuance here, but good nonetheless.

Pours deep black with good head retention. Can smell the roasted malts well on the nose. Dark and smooth on the tongue, not much carbonation but good amount of mouthfeel.

Pours a black brown color with a medium sized light brown head. Notes of dark chocolate, mint, dark syrup, and roasted malt. Not very complex but still pretty tasty.

An exceptional porter. There are nice deep berry flavors to compliment the toasty malts. Nicely bitter as well, with a lasting finish.

Black with red edges and a medium brown head. For some reason, it smells ’red’ to me (or maybe ’burgundy’). Enoumously sweet and rich coffee-malt flavour and a large bitter hop finish. Very smooth in the mouth. Brutal, yet complex. Very nice.

Can’t fault the impenetrable black with permanent, creamy, beige head. Rich chocolate and eggy cream with hints of smoky wood. Terribly smoky but light and vibrant. Meaty yet citric. Crisp and heavy, this is a perfect little porter. Amazing.

Pretty solid brew... The color was very dark and opaque and the head was a very coffee like brown. Needless to say it looked delicious. The taste was pretty good, but a little watery for me, and it didn’t last as long as I would’ve hoped. Overall, pretty good, but it left me wanting a little more
