Feb 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours black with a creamy beige head, nice lacing. Aroma is dark chocolate with malt and smoke. Taste is bitter dark chocolate with roasted malt, finishes with a bit of hops. Dry finish, very thick an viscous. Very enjoyable, intense flavor.

Feb 1, 2009 (12 oz btl) Pours a milky black w/ a thick, tan head which diminishes somewhat, but leaves a nice lace behind. Earthy hops combine w/ the rich malt creating an aroma of black strap molasses. Bittersweet chocolate-covered espresso beans is the best way to describe the taste. There’s a hint of dark fruit in there as well. Finishes smoky w/ a nice hop bite.

Jan 30, 2009 12 oz bottle from Annie Baileys in Lancaster, PA. Poured deep brown with a large tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee, and chocolate. Tastes of strong roasted malts, chocolate, coffee with a nice dry finish and mouth feel. I don’t think this bottle was 9.2% and if it was the alcohol was well hidden.

Jan 29, 2009 Bottled. Pours nearly black with a large foamy tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, fruity, and hoppy. The flavor is dominated by roasted malts and strong bitter dark chocolate. Notes of black coffee and some hoppiness make their way in. No real sign of the alcohol. The finish is dry with a good amount of bitterness. Medium bodied with a smooth feel. This is a very nice readily available strong porter.

Jan 27, 2009 Bottle. Aroma is hoppy, roasted and malty, just like the flavor. Flavor has a strong taste of Mämmi in it. Very enjoyable beer!

Jan 25, 2009 Black in color with a decent tightly packed head. Aroma is of coffee and raosted malts with a light hop aroma sneaking through. Flavor is heavy in roastiness, but mellows out a little as the beer sits. Nice flavors of espresso and dark chocolate in ther as well.

Mämmi aroma. Roasted malt. Flavour is strong, roasted, malty, a bit alcohol in a nice way. Very good and enjoyable porter.
