Commercial Description:
Like Hunter S. Thompson...Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 7.8% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if you don’t show it the proper respect. IBU’s: 85

Mean beer... you better collect the caps when drinking this so you know when to categorically stop yourself. A deep dark brown color with a dark brown head that lasts and lasts, a heavy malt scent but the alcohol content is impossible to mask, roasted flavor with a creamy finish, overall not my favorite style but it definitely makes me want to grow a beard and build a cabin

I fucking hate the Boston Red Sox...so what a better way to forget about a shitty game like that than drinking a brew. Pour, black, huge brown head. Aroma...hops!!??!?!!! In a porter!!! Fuck yes! Flavor is awesome as well, hops and malts. This brew is incredibly balanced. I don’t feel like explaining much more cept to just enjoy this brew :)

Pours like 10W30 with a small light brown head with excellent lacing. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted coffee, molasses, and chocolate. The Flavor is sweet and smoky with notes of coffee, molasses, and dark fruits. The texture is creamy. It’s an excellent beer...If Hunter Thompson hadn’t blown his brains out while tripping on acid, I’d congratulate him.

2007 Bottle. Pours thick, with a dark brown head, a black body and good lacing. Aroma of alcohol, chocolate, flowery, syrup and coffee. Taste is alcohol, coffee, smoke with dark fruits. Syrupy, warming with light bubbles. Good!

An almost black colored beer, with a dark beige foamed head. The aroma of chocolate, dark malts, dark fruits and grainy. There is also a lot of hop, American hops, strongly present. When you taste the beer, the hop is also there. It predominate the tastes of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits like prunes, blackberries and raisins. It’s bitter. The aftertaste is bitter as well and it’s warm. That stays for a while.

Poured pitch black with a dark tan head. Smell was roasted coffee and chocolate and a very slight hint of alcohol. Similar flavor. I thought it was well-rounded with a decent mouthfeel.

Strong aroma of sweetened dark chocolate, coffee, and alcohol. Flavors of chocolate, mild coffee, with dark fruits and an alcoholic bite that tingles the tongue. Fruity and acidic at the back of the throat. Bold and good. Not the tops but I’d get again.
