4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a great deep brown color with a medium tan head. Nose is hops and alcohol. Amazing and complex aromas : roasted malts, coffee, plums, raisins, caramel, plus pine thanks to the tons of hops. Creamy texture with a lively carbonation. Long and bitter finsih. Drinking a Gonzo Imperial Porter is a wild, fantastic and madcap adventure in the country of hops and indecent beer ! Love it !

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
355ml bottle from Brewdog.com (£4.09):
Chocolate & some dark, rich malts with some coffee. Some darker fruits with some raisin and even a little caramel coming through on the nose. Some hops & sugar follow with a slightly boozy aroma.
Black with a large, dark tan head that holds well.
Sweet with some milk chocolate and a rich taste that is part malty with some alcohol. There is a hint of bitterness around the middle and a little pine from the nose. This is a beer than gets better and better as it is dark. There is some darker fruits in there too.
Smooth & creamy with a full body, lots of sweetness & a touch of bitterness. Rich with light carbonation and a warming, boozy feel. Complex but well balanced.
An exceptional beer and one that comes across as incredibly complex yet still highly drinkable with a high alcohol content that is pretty well hidden throughout. The beer is one that gets better with each sip and is one that initially feels as if it will be too boozy but somehow settles down very nicely indeed.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black with 2cm foamy head. Looks good. Smells of sweet centennial hops - toffee, orange, also some background seaweed. Body is medium to light, overly foamy - not good at all. Taste - some caramel and orange, seafood saltiness, astringent hoppy finish. A bit weird and misdirected. Iíd call it a black IPA rather than a double porter. Not a good balance between the malts and hops - not well-integrated. Lots of potential, but falls short.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Black with a thick tan head. Aroma is mostly chocolate and roasted malt with a hint of hops. Taste is very hoppy for the style. Citrusy and piney with some umami and chocolate lingering in the finish. Slightly thin but silky mouthfeel with strong carbonation. Pretty good but the hops are slightly overwhelming. Could use more balance.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from systembolaget. Really nice roasted aroma filled with and coffee, chocolate with hints of smoke, liquorice and tobacco. The taste is mainly dominated by coffe and bitterness. Also the finsih is heavy in coffe. The finsih is also long and nice. There is also a nice alcoholic warmth in the beer. It is however very carbonated, fizzy I would say which really ruins the mouth feel.
It is a really nice imperial stout, especially if you are into lots of roasted coffe flavours. However the the high carbonation actually ruins a lot for this beer

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nose is cola, molasses, vanilla, slight smoke. Taste somke, toast, leading to coffee, dark cherry, hazelnut, oak, a spicy finish with hints of pepper. A little to carbonated for me. Delicious.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2013 Pours black with a little head that lasts well. Aroma of strong roasted maltiness and notes of vanilla, whisky - very rich and interesting. Taste is full of different flavours; coffee, chocolate, licorice, rye pudding. Dry, slightly bitter finish. Dark maltiness dominates, but hop presence is there too to bring balance. Palate is really full bodied and thick, low carbonation. Excellent, slow quality beer with a rich, long taste.
