yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Apr 17, 2008 12 fl oz bottle. Pours black with an initil dense brown head with diminishes to a nice lacework in a few minutes. Chocolate malt and light grainy to roasted malt aroma. Flavour is light coffee-ish, chocolate smooth, roasted malt bitter (also from coffee and chocolate). Goes from slight sweet chocolate and liqourice into a dry roasted and subdued hops bitter finish. Wellbalanced into the finish with a lingering chocolate note. raiderfost (158), virginia beach, Virginia, USA Apr 17, 2008 Bottle. Thanks J&M. Very suprising because im not much of a flying dog fan, but wow what a great imperial porter. sfhodense (554), Odense NØ, Denmark Apr 17, 2008 Bottle. Black beer with brown head. Aroma is chocolate with notes of hops. Falvour is roasted malt, chocolate and coffee, with notes of hops (citrus/grape) daknole (2800), Plantation, Florida, USA Apr 16, 2008 Updated: Nov 15, 2008Great porter. No glass, so no eye test for this beer. Aromas of toffee, chocolate, coffee and the flavors are the same. Some hops are present to balance the brew.
Additional rating Aug 20, 2008...black pour with an nice brown head. Damn creamy and a little boozier than I remember. This is a really damn good beer. checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 15, 2008 Bottle: Poured a dark black color with a tan head. The aroma was coffee, caramel, chocolate and some hoppiness. The flavor was decent, with roasted chocolate and coffee being strongest. Overall, a decent beer. KM (218), Tromsø, Norway Apr 14, 2008 Bottle. All black body. Brown head. Seems very thick. Heavy sweet aroma. Havy malty flavour, with some coffee and chocolate. Very full-bodied. Cool label. (Ånn, 21.03.08) biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA Apr 14, 2008 Thick oily pour with a thin tan head. Excellent tarry, smoky, roasty, chocolaty, leathery, licorice aroma. Very thick in body. Lacking in follow through, The flavor is not nearly as complex as the aroma. I get some smoked salmon. Strange beer, not sure why it is called an Imperial Porter. crowderm (275), Recklinghausen, Germany Apr 12, 2008 Pours a solid black with a nice coffee head. Chocolate, coffee and piney hops in the aroma. The flavor is tons of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee couple with some citrus hop bitterness. Very nice. The mouthfeel is pretty full and slightly tingly, and pairs nicely with the flavor of the brew. I like this one a lot.
