Like Hunter S. Thompson...Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 9.2% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if you don’t show it the proper respect. IBU’s: 85

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2012 12 oz bottle pours black with a mocha colored head. Aroma of roasted malt with subtle hints of dark fruit and some toffee as it warms. Taste of molasses and black licorice upfront and then a turn to darker flavors of charred malt and dark chocolate covered espresso beans.

Black pour with small tan head. Aroma is powerful with coffee and roasted malts. Taste is similar with intense coffee, roasted malts and dark chocolate with a warming whack of alcohol at the end. Heavy body.

Czarne piwo, nieprzejrzyste. Posmak skórki chleba i paloności.

Wyśmienite piwo. Mógł nim wnosić toast za nie same. Świetny aromat, wygląd i zajebisty smak. Polecam!

Bottle at csakajo. Pitch black colour, small brown fast disscipating head. Nose is cocoa, roasted malts, light ash. Taste is medium bitterness. Cocoa powder light ashy sourness. Nice brew nontheless but I think it would be better with a fuller body.

355ml bottle. Consumed from the bottle, so can’t comment on the pour. The aroma has plenty of bitter espresso and dark chocolate, along with sweet spice hops. Quite strong hops for the style bring in herbs and sweet spice up front, with a huge whack of bitter dark chocolate in the mid-palate and a touch of espresso coming in at the finish. A very good example of the style.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2016 Bottle shared by a buddy and consumed from a stein mug which doesn’t really seem right. Black in color with a half finger tan head. Nose is assertive toffee and caramel with nearly a chocolate raisin quality. Taste has plenty of chocolate and roasted malt. Dark cocoa bitterness in the finish. Alcohol presence definitely felt. Mostly sweet. There’s a mild dark fruity quality that comes through with more sips. Roasty coffee notes are present but mild. This is a really spot on representation of the style. Worth a bottle.

Czarny, nieprzejrzysty. Piana drobna, brązowa, pojawiają się większe pęcherze. Bardzo ładnie osadziła się na szkle. Aromat czekoladowy, jest nuta chmielowa. Pachnie świeżo. W smaku mocno czekoladowy, Gęsty w odczuciu, złożony. Lekko zakleja usta. Dość gładki. Lekka nuta alkoholowa. Ale alkohol nie pojawia się w postaci grzania dość późno. Pozostawia goryczkowy, lekko ziołowy posmak. Wytrawny w smaku. Przyjemny, ale są lepsze.
