Like Hunter S. Thompson...Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 9.2% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if you don’t show it the proper respect. IBU’s: 85

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2012 12 oz bottle pours black with a mocha colored head. Aroma of roasted malt with subtle hints of dark fruit and some toffee as it warms. Taste of molasses and black licorice upfront and then a turn to darker flavors of charred malt and dark chocolate covered espresso beans.

Bottle. Pitch black with light brown, big, semi-densed head. Good head retnetion and lacing. Strong roasted malts aroma - mainly milk chocolate and coffee balanced by caramel notes. Also licorice adn touch of dark fruits - raisins. Taste is highly bitter thru the whole of degustation. Full body, oily and thick texture, average carbonation finish is super roasty and oaky. Very warming sensation. In overall very complex, balanced beer with all the features that imperial porter should have.

Pours with a massive head, which is brown, later off-white. Very strong roasted aroma, strong coffee and caramel smell. Taste is very full, slightly roasted at first, developing through sweet fullness to a slightly bitter, hoppy finish, leaving you with an oak-like, roasted finish. A beer for hour tastebuds, but very heavy.

Aroma is robust, earthy hops, roasted malt, coffee, very robust. Appearance is dark dark brown, almost black, light brown head, poured pretty thick. Taste is super roasty, robust malt, earthy hops, just very rich, like Mikkeller Black only not over-the-top, just right. Mouthfeel is heavy body, light carbonation, earthy hop and robust roasted malt aftertaste. Overall, I didn’t expect it to be this good. I am sorry I underestimated it.

UPDATED: APR 25, 2016 Piękna, drobna, zbita, beżowa piana. Dość wysoka. Opadające, ładnie zdobi szkło. Aromat czekoladek z alkoholem, karmelowy, palony. Przyjemny, ale alkohol wychodzi trochę za bardzo. Dosc gęsty w odczuciu, ale też dość wysoko nasycony. Niestety, w smaku dalej odczuwalnie alkoholowy, po kilku łykach język dretwieje i odmawia współpracy. Piwo z dużym potencjałem, niestety zabitym przez mocne akcenty spirytusowe.

Bottle 355ml. Deep black with a lushly beige head. Lovely aroma of coffee and chocolate. The taste is mildly bittersweet at first but develops into a beautifully balanced coffee like bitterness. Great!
