COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hunter S. Thompson...Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 9.2% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if you donít show it the proper respect. IBUís: 85

Pours a dark black with a thick tan head, decent foam stability. Roasty nose with hints of chocolate and sublte fruitiness. Flavor bittersweet chocolate with a carmel sweetness and a balanced hop flavor and bitterness. Rich and tasty

Pretty solid brew... The color was very dark and opaque and the head was a very coffee like brown. Needless to say it looked delicious. The taste was pretty good, but a little watery for me, and it didnít last as long as I wouldíve hoped. Overall, pretty good, but it left me wanting a little more

Draught at Den tatoverede Enke. Beautiful, black with brownish head. Aroma: Surprisingly hoppy - combined with the more usual porter malty aromas. Flavour: Wonderfully sweet, rich, burned - and hoppy.

Pours almost black with a tan head that diminishes quickly. Very strong flavor of chocolate and coffee. A very well balanced porter. Enjoyable winter beer.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2006 Pours an opaque raisin color in the goblet with a very slight dark brown head. Nose of alcohol, hops, caramel, roasted, coffee-ish notes. Good balance of hops bitterness and malty sweetness with a warm alcohol presence. Very good!

Gonzo pours a nice black color with a nice dark chocolate brown colored head. It smells of a nice nutty coffee. Taste is of dark berries with a roasted chocolate,or just a nice dark chocolate and also very full bodied. I’ve had this barrel aged and i can’t really decide witch one i love better. The truth is that they’re both great!!!! Drink this with mole!!!!

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2014 Aroma is chocolate, big roasty malts, burnt toast and anise. A mouthful is creamy dark chocolate with a touch of black licorice, followed by subtle hop notes to round it out. A bit of booziness comes through but it is well hidden amongst the complexities and layers.

Baltic Porter - very loyal to the stlye, to a point. The cascade hops kind of give ti a tart citris punch that I usually do not get from other Baltic Porter style beers. I felt this one after a Gumball Head and half this bottle. Some mollasses and plum. Get it now.

Bottle. Pours black with a dense, enormous reddish-tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark fruit, citrusy hops, and something that vaguely smells like burning plastic? Taste is much more on the stout side, as Iíve never had a porter this bitter - some coffee notes, then lots of hops, and then that weird burning plastic again. It mellows out and gets a little sweeter in a chocolatey way as it gets warmer but the burning plastic taste is still there. Mouthfeel is nice and creamy. Not really stoked on this one. I donít really know what burning plastic tastes like, either.
