COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hunter S. Thompson...Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 9.2% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if you don’t show it the proper respect. IBU’s: 85

Smells lovely and very, tastes wonderful and also quite a lot. The aftertaste lingers long long time. A little dryness I know of but trouble me not much. Clearly one of the best porter that I have tasted.

Awesome beer that I finally got a chance to try after several years at the Hoppy Loft in Brussels. Opaque jet black body with a big heavy and dense tan head. The nose is intense and robust with massive roasted malt notes, big espresso and mild vanilla aromas. Sweet and earthy up front with a rich chocolate roasted malt. The finish is robust and heavy with a warmth through the aftertaste. A great sipping beer and an awesome Imperial Porter overall.

Love it! Aroma is great: malty and roasty. Taste is smooth and thick with a nice complexity. The boozy aroma does tend to appear after it warms a bit. Finishes surprising clean with a nice bitterness that...maintains. ...what’s the difference between a porcupine and a porsche?

Poured from 12 oz. bottle at Middle Eastern Cuisine in Takoma Park, MD. Opaque, brown-black with large dark tan head and very good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and caramel. Taste of sweet roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, molasses and a touch of grapefruit and pine. Medium body and medium/low carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the bottle, pours dark brown with big, long-lasting brown foamy head. Smells terrific, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, smokey even. The hops surprise me every time I have this beer and I’m not sure it needs that much. It’s full of nice flavours but they don’t get to linger long enough due to the hops. I get some dark fruit and lots of coffee and chocolate to taste before the bitterness takes over. It’s good, I drink it regularly, but I always think it could be so much better. Perhaps I should try one of the aged versions.

I prefer this beer aged. Then it is not so hoppy. Taste is dark dried fruits, chocolate and a little coffee. To bitter though.

Brilliant Porter with a ton of flavour. To call this deep is an understatement.
