My first Porter so this rating is a little biased. If all porters taste like this then I think that I might stay away. It feels smooth on the tongue and great going down. smells roasty and slightly chocolate. I still love Flying Dog, nevertheless

Smells hoppier than I expect. Dark as night, tan head. Tastes like a chocolate coffee stout... just lighter in flavor. Very smooth. Great one.

Absoulutamente excepcional! Um aroma agradável cafeinado com toques etílicos doces, já começa o bom gosto por ae. Os goles são estritamente dividos em três sensações: a primeira é maltada, a segunda lupulado acafeinada e a terceira ligeiramente amarga com o álcool se evidenciando, com retrogosto agradavelmente amargo. Ótimo equilíbrio! À primeira vista essa porter incrível assemelhasse com um café escuro no copo, com creme baixo e bem consistente. Com certeza a melhor Porter de minha e suas vidas. Indispensável no catálogo de um cervejeiro.

Pours black with a small biege. Aroma of sweet chocolate malt and a fair bit of booze. Very sweet flavour, chocolate predominates with a background woody note with a fainter hint of alcohol. Nice and sweet.

Bottle. Pours black with a small off-white head. Smell is minimal.. some coffee and cocoa but pretty bland. Taste is lightly bitter with some cocoa notes. This is okay.. i’d have to try more of the style to compare it.

Deep brown almost black body. Dark beige head which disappears relatively quickly. Smooth oily moutfeel. Aroma of licorice, coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate and maybe some oak. Has a touch of mocca and roasted coffee beans in the finish. Great porter, no doubt!

This is a fine porter. Strong and robust malt flavor with a nice hop overtone gives it some vibrancy. Being fairly smooth on the palate makes it pretty drinkable. The high ABV would limit me to one or two per sitting.

Bottle at home, 28th January 2012. Aroma of salty liquorice, palate is medium body, carbo about right. Good abv, nice hit. Not overly excited.

Dark, roasty, chocolate aroma with hints of raisins and other dark fruits as well as subtle piney hops. Taste has the same notes as the aroma does. Impressed by the amount of hops that come through for a porter whilst not being totally out of balance with the coffee and roasted flavours from the malts. Very good!
