COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hunter S. Thompson...Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 9.2% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if you don’t show it the proper respect. IBU’s: 85

Really good. Superb mouthfeel; luscious full body with just the right amount of carbonation. Black, with a big coffee head, though it didn’t last very long. Roasted malt and burnt treacle aroma. Great balance of flavours - the malt smoothing out the alcohol, with a background of vanilla and nut, and dark fruit right at the back.

Aroma is of chocolate and hints of berry. Fairly sweet in the beginning with a slight bitter finish. Alcohol is hidden by the strong malty backbone.

Black, mocha head, its not going anywhere. Smells of coffee, chocolate, nuts. Taste starts of hazelnut, chocolate, jumps into a strong espresso with a lingering hop bitterness. Very rich, very smooth.

Bottle from a shop in york. Pours dark brown and settles black with a creamy tan head. Smells of dark fruit and malts with liquorice a touch of coffee. Taste is smoky and rich malts, with lychee bitterness from the hops. Prickly carbonation but doesn’t kill the full bodied oil. Pretty special stuff.

Pours a slightly viscous black with a small brown head, some mild lacing. Aroma is dark roasted caramel chocolate malt, some notes of molasses and mild dark fruit. Taste is sweet dark roasted caramel malt, dark bitter cacao some roasted espresso bean bitterness, some notes of dark dried fruit, mild alcohol esters. Palate is a full rich slightly creamy and viscous body, mild carbonation, sits well on the palate. The finish is a sweet bitter combination of dark roasted malt, espresso bean bitterness, slightly dry ending, alcohol is well hidden. Overall a very good and robust Imperial Porter, very nice.
