Commercial Description:
Like Hunter S. Thompson...Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 7.8% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if you don’t show it the proper respect. IBU’s: 85

Bottle. Rating #200. Pours deep, opaque brown with thick, rich and rocky brown head. Bright citrus and piney hop aroma on a background of bready malt. Flavor: smoked malt, earthiness, rye bread. Some light hop bitterness around the edges of this tremendous malt flavor. Bitter finish with coffee bean flavor. Hop resiny aftertaste. Extremely thick palate.

Pours an impenetrable black with a dark brown head. Remarkably potent smell - cereal. Oats, grapes, alcohol. Thin head with some lace. Tastes like a Baltic porter - potent, dark, roasted, fruity, and hoppy enough to get away with it. Great body (thick!) and good carbonation. Thankfully I bought several of them, so I can enjoy this brew again!

Dark brown/black in color with dark brown, small diminishing head and nice lacing. Aroma is huge, hops and coffee. Flavor is very nice, good balance of hops and coffee/roasted notes.

I can see why they call it an American Strong Ale instead of IS, its a bit hoppy but has the chocolate, roasted, nutty, and sweet character as well. Possibly the best from FD.

Finly tracked this dude down. GB hunter Thompson, I might save one of these bottles just because. Pours a nice dark ass brown. Smell is a little weaker than in like, but it does the job. Taste is near perfect, and border line stout, in my opinion, with the chololate and malt overtones. Very drinkable and will have a permanent place in my fridge.
