COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like Hunter S. Thompson...Gonzo Imperial Porter is deep and complex. This turbo charged version of the Road Dog Porter is mysteriously dark with a rich malty body, intense roasted flavors, and a surprisingly unique hop kick. With Gonzo weighing in at 9.2% ABV, it will bite you in the ass if you don’t show it the proper respect. IBU’s: 85

Incredible. Besides being a huge HST fan, I’m a huge fan of this beer. Has a terrific aroma of coffee and roasted malts. What makes this beer even better is it’s balance between it’s ABV and its flavor. What a great beer.

Bottle from ’Total Wine & More.’ Bottle labeled "Vintage 09HH" Pours almost black [dark red when small amount is held against the light] with a dark tan head. Smells and tastes roasted. Slightly bitter but not over-powering. Full bodied, with a thick texture. The carbonation is strong at first, but once the head disappears the carbonation settles down but never goes soft. The finish lasts for a long time with a strong start and mellows out over time. Overall Hunter S. Thompson would be proud with this amazing imperial porter.

Lovely beer, perfect color and appearance, and gives a good and healthy, natural taste. Strong but very balanced, complex yet friendly, a truly great porter. Drunk from bottle, gift from friend, 17.dec-10

Pours a small head, a nice lace coats the glass as you take this sucker down. The color is a dark brown, carbonation is low. The taste is exceptional with many great flavors tingling around and the right amour of hoppy finish. The 9.2 % ABV has the spirit of Hunter Thompson who once said he had a theory that "truth is never told during the nine-to-five hours." So kick back after work and swallow some candor called the "Gonzo Imperial Porter" by Flying Dog.

0.33l bottle. Black body brown head. Lots of chocolate and dark fruits in the aroma with some tobacco notes. A lot of chocolate, some dark fruits in the flavour. Big bodied beer. Extraordinary.

pours black with mocha head and nice lacing just like any good stout, but a hint more carbonation. Nose hints of pine needles. Tastes like a great stout, so apparently i need to read up on porters vs stouts, because i would not know the difference at this point if this was labeled as a stout. Either way, great beer.

From 0.355l bottle to the Teku glass . BBD: 07.06.2015 APP: Pours cloudy deep black liquid with some small particles- yeast. Beautiful, medium, brown head that fade slowly. AR: Very rich dense aroma. Malt, red fruits, candied fruits, roasted malt, chocolate, some alcohol, T: Once more time, very rich, heavy, beautiful taste. Medium to heavy sweet, medium to heavy bitter, light sour. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, earthy tones, sweet, fruits, herbs, woody, heavy herbal bitterness in the aftertaste, some smoke taste. Unrepeatable taste, Im in heaven :) PAL: full body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, long hard bitter finish. Warning: Dangerously drinkable! OV: Unforgettable beer! Perfectly combined smooth taste aroma, appearance, everything. Expectations overpassed. FOOD: I tried to pare this beer with foie gras and toasted bread. Worked quiet well, as the beer got more bitter by time, the foie gras with hot toasted bread soften it and makes a good opposite to the beer. I liked it
