Tap at Rustico. Pours clear dark amber to brown with a medium, creamy off-white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is juniper berries, spruce, salt, and toast malt with light fruity esters. Flavor is malt forward with medium spices and a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 magsinva (600) - Virginia, USA - MAR 15, 2013
Tap at fireworks - pours root beer brown, mostly opaque. I’m getting the heather on the nose. Palate is medium, finish a touch dry. Not a lot of bitterness. Taste is wheaty sweet. Overall, probably my 3rd or fourth in this style, and by far the best so far.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DiarmaidBHK (2274) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 15, 2013
Draft at Fireworks Pours brown with a thin head that disappears quickly. Smells a bit like tea leaves. Floral, almost perfumed on the tongue. Finishes clean. Eh!
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 radagast83 (3098) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - MAR 3, 2013
Draft at Rustico Alexandria. Aroma was a bunch of herbal notes - definitely can recognize the lavender. Flavor was about the same - enjoyed it enough as it’s a strange, different brew. Odd.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Elwood (2491) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - MAR 1, 2013
Serving: draft at Fireworks Leesburg. It pours a hazy amber and smells like a juniper filled pine tree. Unfortunately it tastes about the same. Perhaps true to style, but there is just too much pine and not enough other flavors. Not one I would want more than a few ounces of.

Draft at rnh. Dark purple color. No head. Not really a fruit beer but good. It's your standard magic hat 9 beer

This is interesting but not really enjoyable. Tastes and feels more like tea than beer. Pretty thin and watery with weird vegetal and herb notes on top of a weak porter-like base. Meh

On tap at the brewery. No hops! That aspect was different and pretty good. The part I didn’t like was the herbal, floral taste. I have yet to have a good experience drinking beer with lavender.
