Aroma is of soft malty caramel and grape candy. Nice malty cereal grain flavor with a touch of grape candy and sprucy hops. Went well with my shrimp cocktail. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 24, 2006 Cereal malt aroma. Orangish-gold beer, clingy off-white head. Foul label. Tastes like a Eastern European lager, when it waxed sweet. Pretty bitter at times, especially as it warmed. Cereal/toasted oat finish. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 24, 2006 Draft at the Barking Dog. Medium orange color, very little white head and less lacing. Very tasty, quick-drinking beer. Has a body approaching medium size, but still very much on the chuggable side. Light sugar and soft breafruit notes emerge with a long pull, but it’s fairly neutral as a sipper. Well-made but shockingly pedestrian for FD (says more about FD than about this beer). jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 22, 2006 From a 12 oz. long neck brown bottle with a best before date on the lower right hand corner, 195A06.
Made a average appearance, poured a clear reddish golden with a small foamy white head that quickly settled into a fine lacing, moderate carbonation overall.
Had a nose of sweet grainy/barley maltiness, a little sugary as well, and a light spicy hoppiness.
A semi-crisp and smooth light bodied mouthfeel, average drinkability.
Sweet malted barley taste with a light toasted graininess, a bit sugary, dry yeasty, a fleeting spicy hoppiness, and a banana fruity and dry malty finish.
For me, average Maibock/Helles bock at best, drinkable, but I’m glad I purchased this on sale.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 16, 2006 Pured gold color, crystal clear and tiny white head. Aroma of grainy wheat or pale like malts and a little skunky yeast. Nice Bock flavor. It goes from yeasty/tangy to yeasty/fruity-sweet to some hop bite then to smooth yet grainy malts. Not bad at all. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 12, 2006 12 oz bottle. Deep golden with a fast fading white head. Sweet pale malt aroma, a bit of stone fruite (apricot) as well. Fairly clean, but the mouthfeel is a bit oil and slick. Sweet pale malt, bread and a bit of lingering breadiness. Faint noble hops. OK, but a bit lacking in character. As it warms, some nice toasty notes come forward. ratman197 (3189), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 11, 2006 On tap @ Rocky Mountain Brewfest poured a clear reddish gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of carmel, honey and light citrus. Palate was medium bodied. Flavors of honey, light carmel, apple and a hint of citrus with a bitter finish. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 11, 2006 Pretty light for a bock beer. Pours copperish with small head. A nice crisp taste. I dont really think it is a true bock. That doesn’t mean that it isnt good. I liked it.
