Commercial Description:
Heller Hound Bock is a crisp and malty Maibock, brewed with a special combination of Vienna and Munich malts. With a rich mouth feel and a subtle hop finish this is the perfect brew for toasting the sun's return.

Clear, dark gold beer toped by a frothy and nice off white head. Aroma is nice , primary malty, bready. The initial taste is sl sweet but followed by grassy hopps bitterness. Increasinly unimpressive as it warms in my opinion. Not a bad effort but not on my repurchase list either.

Bottled. Deep golden, brief head. Buttery malt aroma. Grassy hops and toffee up front. Medium sweet with rivh maltiness and clean but filling mouthfeel. Some salty licorice in a lingering bitter finish. A solid bock.

Tap. Clear golden amber with a big white head. Malty aroma and a malty caramel flavor. It turns to a bitter dry finish. Not a fan of this one mainly due to the finish.

Transparent bright gold in color with a fully 1/2" snowdrift head. Aroma is sweet caramel, toffee, canned corn, anise and paprika. Fairly rich and smooth, incorporating flavoring elements of vanilla, cedar, honey and caramel. Very much in check and not falling victim to the over sweetened tendencies of many maibocks. Medium-bodied and flavor rendering. Limited carbonation is a plus in this rendition. Finishes with a Vanilla Nips aftertaste. Much better than expected.

Robe blonde dorée surmontée d’une mousse généreuse. Arômes légers de malt. Saveurs de malt, d’agrumes et de houblon amérisant. Arrière-goût un peu court.
